F.A.Management Solutions, Inc. is a collection company run and owned by Attorney Hugh Brett Shafritz. No information is available through normal sources as to Shafritz' legal education.
This company sends letters claiming outrageously inflated debts are owed them and refuses to validate such claims, and instead goes ahead with litigation when federal law clearly forbids such action.
Shafritz files suits for debts past the Statute of Limitations, uses confusing, misleading, meaningless arguments in court to try and justify his claims. Shafritz seldom appears in small claims court, he hires local henchmen to do his dirty work, and sometimes he appears by telephone where this is allowed.
Shafritz will deny his suits are time barred, when pressed will contrive meaningless arguments to shift blame to the defendant. His firm meanwhile lectures other 'lawyers' on the fine points of always obeying the FTC Collection laws.
As well, his firm members are quoted in Lawyer's Weekly about the risks incurred by snooping into defendant's personal business.
This is of some interest in that one cannot lecture with the authority of an expert and then turn around and file defective, illegal suits. Nor can one piously urge brother lawyers to refrain from invading the privacy of defendants' lives and then turn about and distribute and reveal personal information to unauthorized persons for seeming purposes of coercing defendants into paying debts which may not be their responsibility.
Shafritz fails to validate debts and when taken to task about this tells the judge that some vague error by the debtor left him unobligated to do so.
Then for good measure he states that he did validate the debt, albeit in a form proscribed by FTC rules.
Mr. Hugh Brett Shafritz fails to notify credit reporting agencies that debts are contested by defendants, he seems to obtain credit reports and distributes them freely.
It is very difficult to understand how this individual who firm members speak publicly with the authority and clarity of experts in their field can make 'honest' mistakes by way of the above very questionable behaviors.
Mr. Shafritz quite possibly has enjoyed success by way of defendant/debtor's unawareness of their rights and understandable fear of the judicial process.
Any 'victims' of Mr. Shafritz and his F.A. Management Solutions, Inc. company might do well to visit chatrooms, and share their experiences.
Court records and reports from persons sued by this individual, who seemingly takes great pains to conceal his own information, indicate possible patterns of collection activity in violation of the Federal Trade Commission rules, among other proscriptions.
