Fairbanks Construction Replacement Windows Estimate Ocala Florida

We rerquested a quote for twelve (12) windows in out home. The salesman, Mark Rosow came and viewed our requirements. We had a full RFQ (request For Quote) sheet completed so the estimate would cover everything we wanted/needed. We further told him (as we did the lady on the phoine setting the appointment) that we were in the process of getting more quotes, and we WOULD NOT buy the nght he came to quote.

The salesman prepared his estimate, then wrote it on notebook paper. We demanded an itemized quote, and would ONLY give us a full price, a discounted price, and a "if you buy tonight" discounted price. We, again, said we wnated a full breakdown and he refused. I told him that after 40-yrs in business management, I always get three full quotes. Additionally, there might be 1-3 windows we won't re-do, as they are Eastery facing. Again, he refused a detailed quote.

If we were to order these windows, we woudl have no idea what we would get. Florida law dictates certain requirement (wind load, tempered glass, etc) yet his hand-written estimate specified none of these. If they were installed, how woudl we know that we got what was required and what we wanted? Without even a brochure, will we get the windows he demo'd, or a switch into a cheaper window?

We think this is shoddy and sleazy. How can you trust a salesman and company that will not specify the product they are selling? We have phoned and emailed looking for a quote and written product information, and have been rebuffed at each attempt.

It leads us to believe the company has something to hide!

As it turns out, several of the items on our RFQ were not included in his estimate. We asked about them, and he said, he did not even read the RFQ, but the items would be "a couple of hundred bucks". Does this sound like a professional estimate or a bait-and-switch in process?
