the company Fairway Chevrolet sent me a million piece in the mail in the name of my former roommate then they called me on my number and I told him this was not her and they said it's okay you can claim the $50,000 just come in. so I hightailed it over there thinking oh my God I have 50 Grand this is amazing day after my birthday I'm all excited. I get down there they told me to scratch off another scratcher something that they give me from behind the clerk's desk it matches for Lucky horseshoes and they gave me $5 and then they tried to talk me into buying a car. I told them I didn't want to car before I even decided to come down this is some extreme bull crap on the million pieces says if you scratch off three stars that match you have won 50000. it's false advertisement at its best to get you down here to try and get you to sign up for something that you don't even want instead of 50 Grand I guess I was given $5 huge lie. they shouldn't do it if you trying to sell cars you need to ask people who really want cars and discount them but if you're going to say you're going to give away that kind of money you should actually do it or you should not lie

Let me first say that the "matching" game is a very common and old gimmick to get people into a dealership, and after you read the rest of this you will pay a bit more attention and not fall for it so easily.

Thank you for posting the card, but if you read the card you will see that it doesn't say DID win 50,000 if you match 3 symbols. It says you COULD win 50,000 if the symbols matched. You will notice that it actually never said you won $50,000, it just said you were a "winner" and hoped you made the connetion even though they never said it. As you know there is a big difference between "could" and "did" and your reaction is exactly what they are hoping for to get you into the dealership.

On top of the "could" you also little asterisks all over the place, if you follow that asterisk to the "fine print" you will see that you have to go to the dealer to confirm your prize and the card you have doesn't actually guarantee any specific prize. In this case by them giving you another ticket that ends up being worth $5.

The real kicker in this is that if by some chance you did actually win the 50,000 you can almost be sure that there was probably something in the fine print that said it was only collectable by the person named on the card, and they would have used that to fight actually giving you the prize. While this is admittedly speculation, I would bet if you went through that fine print in detail you would find something to that affect.

By the way, you did exactly what you should have done...turn around and walk out.
