Lawsuit Claim is Wrong!
AUTHOR: Family Care Plus - (United States)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, February 20, 2018
The claims that David Krett has been “taken to court several times already” and that he owns “Family Care Home Visiting Nurse” are simply false.
While David Krett, Jr. does own Family Care Plus, LLC, he does not own Family Care Home Visiting Nurse and Home Care Agency, and neither he nor Family Care Plus, LLC were named as parties in the 2010 lawsuit, Hall v. Family Care Home Visiting Nurse and Home Care Agency, LLC that the reviewer inclluded with their post. The reviewer improperly attributed that case to Family Care Plus and David Krett, Jr.
With respect to the 2010 document from the Iuteri v. Family Care Plus case, once again David Krett isn’t listed as a defendant. While the information in the document is limited, there was never a finding by a court or jury that the claim against Family Care Plus had any merit. Unfortunately, occasional complaints are a cost of doing business as an employer. If you were to search for lawsuits filed against other home care agencies I'm sure you'd find similar results.

Inaccurate and Unfair Review!
AUTHOR: Family Care Plus - (United States)
SUBMITTED: Monday, February 19, 2018
We understand that despite our best efforts, some former employees may be dissatisfied with their work experience. This review, however, is rife with claims that are untrue and unfair to Family Care Plus, L.L.C. and its employees.
While Family Care Plus strives to have a positive, supportive working relationship with its employees, not everyone is cut out for providing care to the elderly. That seems to be the case for this reviewer, who fails to understand that a primary purpose of live-in home care is to help elderly individuals with activities of daily living that they can no longer perform on their own due to illness, infirmity or dementia. The activities they need help with can include housekeeping, cooking, feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and walking. It’s not always easy for a client to accept someone moving into their home to assist with the most basic aspects of daily life like bathing and going to the bathroom! Caring for these clients and understanding that they usually cannot control their actions requires compassion, patience and understanding – traits that we highly value in our caregivers!
When Family Care Plus receives an inquiry from a potential client, our first step is to confer with the client and their family about their service needs. This includes a discussion of the client’s personality and life and work history, which helps us find the ideal client-caregiver match!
We also conduct a home safety evaluation before a caregiver is placed on a case. This includes a review of potential hazards that could impact both the client and caregiver, as well as checks on cleanliness, clutter, and potential infestations in the home. We also review the planned sleeping and living arrangements for the caregiver, to ensure their comfort. We then work with the client and their family to ensure that any concerns with safety or cleanliness are addressed before we send a caregiver into the home!
Once a caregiver is assigned to a case, we place frequent calls to both the client’s family and the caregiver to answer any questions or address any concerns they might have, and we also conduct regular field visits to the home. In addition, we have a 365-day, 24-hour on-call service to respond to caregiver or client concerns that are raised outside of normal business hours.
On the rare occasions where we encounter infestations in client homes, we respond immediately. The caregiver is removed from the case and assisted with addressing any contamination of their personal belongings, and the family is contacted to address the infestation in the home. No employee is returned to a case until the client has properly exterminated the home.
Similarly, we will immediately respond to situations where there is insufficient food in the home, where a client demonstrates abusive behaviors, or where the caregiver is otherwise concerned about their own safety or that of their client. While we understand that clients with dementia may occasionally behave inappropriately, we won’t hesitate to honor a caregivers’ request to leave a case if they feel harassed or unsafe, and we won’t hesitate to end cases if a client is inappropriate or otherwise poses a risk to our caregivers!
The reviewer’s claims regarding our pay practices are, quite simply, false. We pay our caregivers by the hour, not by the day, and they are paid in full every week for the prior week’s work.
Finally, the reviewer’s claims about the apartment space we provide to caregivers are both unfair and inaccurate. We do make available a five-bedroom two bath apartment, free of charge, as a convenience to our employed caregivers who are coming on and going off of cases. The apartment has combination locks on both the exterior doors and each bedroom door. The apartment is cleaned regularly, including replacement of the linens after each visit by a caregiver.
