Upon opening my latest and upcoming new auto insurance policy with Farmers Insurance(represented by Farmers Insurance Agent, "Ingrid Walker 1101 Sylvan Ave Ste C201 Modesto, CA 95350-1680 License # 0J19720 209-284-0677 (Office) iwalker@farmersagent.com http://www.farmersagent.com My agent or Farmers Insurance either addeded onto my upcoming new policy, term set to begin in Sept of 2016, "Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury Coverage". I was rather displeased with this non requested coverage and subsequent charge and pointed it out to my Agent(upon tracking her down), Ingrid H Walker of Farmers Insurance, " Ingrid Walker " 1101 Sylvan Ave Ste C201 Modesto, CA 95350-1680
License # 0J19720 209-284-0677 (Office) iwalker@farmersagent.com http://www.farmersagent.com Upon hearing of my complaint, Ingrid Walker Farmers Insurance requested I text her in writing that I wished to decline the coverage and have it removed from the upcoming renewal, HER TEXT: "Hi Michael. Just for verification purposes can you please email me or send me a quick text stating that you have asked for uninsured motorist to be deleted from your policy? Thank you, Ingrid " Being as I was NEVER made aware that the Uninsured Motirist coverage and it's fees were being added. I texted Ingrid Walker of Farmers Insurance (per her request),the following on Aug 10, 2016: " CUSTOMER here, August 10, 2016
To Farmers Insurance Policy # 194140382 This shall show my desire to have uninsured motorist coverage removed from my policy set to begin in my upcoming renewal. **I furthermore never did authorize request uninsured motors on my present policy throughout its term. If in fact I have been charge for such coverage which I did not request, I would like any monies paid towards the courage to be refunded to me or applied towards my next premium. Regards, Michael O'Leary 949-***-**** " In the letter Ingrid H Walker requested I text and I provided, I not only expressed my desire to not carry "Unibsured Motorist Coverage" for the upcoming renewal policy, I informed Ingrid H. Walker of Farmers
Insurance that I "never did authorize/ request uninsured motors on my present policy throughout it's current term". I furthermore stated in my text to Ingrid Walker of Farmers Insurance "I would like any monies paid towards the courage(typo current policy) to be refunded to me or applied towards my next premium." Ingrid Walker Farmers Insurance Agent replied she would look into it, that being told to me on the phone by her~ same day,Aug 10, 2016. On August 11 regarding refunds or investigation of whether or not I was in fact billed for NON REQUESTED "Uninsured Motorist coverage", on my most recent policy term, Ingrid Walker of Farmers texted me at 2:20PM: "Hi Michael. I am
working on this for you." Something smelled fishy and on Aug 12, 2016, I received en email from Ingrid Walker Farmers Insurance : "On Friday, August 12, 2016, Ingrid Walker <iwalker@farmersagent.com> wrote: Good Afternoon Michael, I have called Farmers and unfortunately due to the fact that you signed the application which listed the Uninsured BI coverage and there was no written request denying it they are unable to refund the $20 for that coverage from the previous 6 months. I have removed it and will be sending you a form for you to sign and return. I truly apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you, Ingrid Walker 1101 Sylvan Ave Ste C201 Modesto, CA 95350-1680 License # 0J19720 209-
284-0677 (Office) iwalker@farmersagent.com http://www.farmersagent.com/iwalker **Though removing the unrequested coverage from the upcoming renewal policy set for Sept., 2016....the letter made it clear I WOULD BE BILLED FOR THE CURRENT POLICY CHARGES of Uninsured Motorist /unrequested coverages....against my wishes. ***NOTE...I find it odd that Farmers Insurance and Ingrid Walker 1101 Sylvan Ave Ste C201 Modesto, CA 95350-1680 License # 0J19720 209-284-0677 (Office) iwalker@farmersagent.com http://www.farmersagent.com/iwalker both REQUIRED I cancel the Uninsured Motorist coverage in writing...BUT NEVER requested I confirm the REQUEST of
Uninsured Motorist Coverage IN WRITING??? That seemed fishy to my, as if the same notification in writing were required for requesting coverage as is declining coverage, it may be tougher for Ingrid Walker of Farmers Insurance to simply add the said coverage without making it clear to me. THAT LACKS TRANSPARANCY IN BUSINESS PRACTICES by Ingrid H Walker of Farmers Insurance. Finally, when I confronted Ingrid H Walker of Farmers Insurance today, via text, of having to pay for coverage I never asked for on this past term, the texts went as follows, Fri Aug 12, 2016: 4:49 PST FROM ME TO Ingrid H Walker: "No word on last year's uninsured motorist charges?" Her immediate repky: "Hi Michael did you
receive my email? " I Replied 4:50PST "Just read it. So since it was slipped in, w/o my request, I eat the previous $20 from current term? (I know you removed it for upcoming renewal period.) Ingrid H Walker, Farmers Insurance~ NO REPLY Several minutes go by? I text her: "I sent this regarding new term yesterday; "******* ****** here, August 10, 2016 To Farmers Insurance Policy # 194140382 This shall show my desire to have uninsured motorist coverage removed from my policy set to begin in my upcoming renewal. like any monies paid towards the courage to be refunded to me or applied towards my next premium. Regards, ******* ***-******* DOES THAT NOT SUFFICE? 8 MIBUTES GO BY, Ingrid H Walker FINALLY REPLIES: "Yes we cancelled it effective the date you sent this but we can't backdated." ***This basically states I EAT COSTS FOR COVERAGE Ingrid H Walker /Farmers Insurance added on without my permission. It isn't the $, BUT THE PRINCIPLE, THE LACK OF TRANSPARANCY by Ingrid H Walker & Farmers Insurance. Take my amt and multiply it by 100,000 UNSUSPECTING consumers, that's $2,550,000!!! OVER 2 MILLION DOLLARS in charges Farmers if in fact did not disclose, as Ingrid H
Walker did not!! OVER $2 million to consumers by this defeitful practice. Ingrid H Walker repkies: "I called Farmers but they stated since the form was signed it's a valid charge. I am sorry for the inconvenience. It has been removed due to your request." INCONVENIENCE?? Not bring told of a charge is fraudulant in my book. Silence from Ingrid H Walker, to which I reply: "Since I don't get the courtesy of a reply to my text, I must say it's very sneaky on your company's part. To keep it civil, I'll pretend you had no idea that the "unrequested coverage" & charges were going on. How will the refund be handled? NO REPLY BY Ingrid H Walker, I REPLY: "Interesting I need to terminate that coverage in writing, but
I don't need to add the coverage in writing? If that doesn't sound sneaky, I don't know what does. You don't have to agree, you work for Farmers. But deep down, you know I'm right. STILL NO REPLY BY Ingrid H Walker, I REPLY , PARTIALLY: "Ok I'd rather pay more to a company that is transparent & forthright in it's dealings, than stay with one in which i've lost faith. & trust. Between now and the new coverage., I will be shopping for another company. Again, even if I have to pay slightly more, it's worth it to have the transparency and trust of the company that insures my vehicle. It's obviously not about the amount, but rather about the integrity of Farmers. Until I do secure other coverage, which I will,
we will proceed with the agreed auto coverage policy to begin September 2016, with NO un-insured motorist coverage. When I do secure a new coverage, whether it be before or after the new term, I will let you know in writing. There are various consumer advocacy websites that love hearing about stories like this. Good luck ******* ****** Her Final Reply, AS I INTERPRET AS "GET LOST": "Michael I am sorry you feel this way and I completely understand if you feel the need to search else where. Please forward all future request to 1800Farmers. Thank you, Ingrid In summation..... I WILL NEVER AGAIN DO BUSINESS WITH NOR REFER: Ingrid Walker 1101 Sylvan Ave Ste C201 Modesto, CA 95350-1680

You and I can get into the endless debate over how uninsured motorist coverage works. For the record, when explaining to Ingrid H. Walker of Farmers Insurance my experience of a hit-and-run and no benefits were issued on my paid UIM policy, Ingrid H. Walker of Farmers Insurance in fact confirmed that that was due to the inability at the insurance company level to identify & establish that the driver who hit me had no insurance, I.E. "hit-and-run and never found. " You may or may not be a relative or friend of Ingrid H. Walker of Farmers,( due to the unusual amount of time you're spending on this), but ask her if in fact that is true, that UIM Benefits are paid in a hit n run accident when no driver is found?? With the past record of Ingrid H. Walker and her lack of transparency when writing my policy...
I wonder if you'll get an honest answer from Ingrid H. Walker of Farmers. BTW...the longer this chain becomes, and you keep it going....your mail and my persistent mentioning of Ingrid H. Walker, Farmers Insurance....simply increases search results of present & future employers and or possible naive clients when looking to either use or hire Ingrid H. Walker of Farmers Insurance. The internet "spiders" simply latch onto her name even easier and consumers get to know not only about the failure of Ingrid H.Walker Farmers Insurance to disclose in advance the fees charged for UIM insurance I did not nor am required to have in this state...they'll get to see how when called out on the non-transparent actions of Ingrid H. Walker of Farmers Insurance, how she simply punted the ball and fingers in the cookie jar, I was told by my then agent Ingrid H. Walker of Farmers to call customer service. Her actions or lack thereof to remedy the situation speak for the way Ingrid H. Walker of Farmers Insurance practices her "business". Keep replying...you're truly helping her cause, I swear. UM Pt 2

"I personally had my car hit and run while it was parked, insurance company I was with at the time hailed to issue uninsured motorist coverage due to the fact that they were never able to find the person who hit me and verify that they were not insured"
This part makes no sense. The Insurance co hailed (I assume you mean Failed) to issue UM coverage. Insurers do not Issue UM coverage, it is an addition to a policy wherein you pay a premium.
With UM coverage, it does activate with a hit-and-run. As far as motor vehicle laws are concerned, a hit-and-run is considered an accident with an uninsured vehicle.
That you have signed a waiver for UM Covergae is fine. However, if it is mandatory in your state, the waiver will not do anything.
I don't understand why a person would not want a coverage that is designed to benefit them.
I suggest you contact your local State Insurance Department for further clarification.

Uninformed, and you missed the point.

My main point of my complaint is that my "agent "assigned uninsured motorist coverage without asking my permission nor informing me of how it works. For The record, & for your information, uninsured motorist or underinsured coverage ONLY kivks in if in fact the person who hit your car is identified, found, does not hit and run, and it's verified to meet the criteria of uninsured or underinsured. I personally had my car hit and run while it was parked, insurance company I was with at the time hailed to issue uninsured motorist coverage due to the fact that they were never able to find the person who hit me and verify that they were not insured. In today's day and age hit n run is more common than the perpetrator waiting at the scene of the crime for leaving a note. Therefore, your insurance company does not and will not pay your uninsured motorist benefits. Just a minor detail to detail to tell you I'm signing you up, signing them up without even telling you signing you up and subsequently billing you. I have sent signed a waiver declining hit-and-run I have sent signed a waiver declining hit-and-run coverage, pet requirements of Farmers. I find it ODD that no such documents requiring signature to ADD Uninsured Motorist what's ever asked for or required? Then again, if you require such a document is giving my permission to add a coverage and subsequent charges, may impact be just a little too transparent to the entire company to handle. So again, in the event of a hit-and-run accident, you have absolutely no uninsured motorist coverage, that you are paying for. In my case, I was never given the option of uninsured coverage, it was simply assigned and billed. The fact that the driver of a hit-and-run accident must be located & determined to have no insurance to even receive benefits, basically make such courage a paper tiger. Back then it was assigned to my policy at all without my permission, makes it less transparent. Consumer, Aliso Viejo

Uninsured Motorist coverage

Your complaint seems to be the addition of Uninsured Motorist Coverage. Suppose you have an accident. Another car hits you, your car rolls over and you are ejected, and have two broken legs, a cracked skull and are disabled for life. And the car that hit you has no insurance-YOU have no one to sue. THAT is what Uninsured Motorist Coverage is for. So YOU can be compensated for someone that hits you and you can still recover for your Pain and Suffering.
In many states, this is a Mandatory coverage. That you now have the coverage, you should be thankful.
