I have a Fashion Bug Credit Card. My card had a zero balance.

In October I received a bill for $25 as a fee for Premium card service. Since I do not use my card and do not need or desire "Premium" service I did not plan to pay the $25. This month I received my bill with the $25 fee and a $20 late fee.

I called the number on my bill and through the automated service I closed my account. I then called and spoke to a human representative and explained that I did not request premium service and did not need it and wanted the fee removed.

"Rolinda" informed me that my account was closed. I informed her that I knew that - I had just done it! I told her what I just typed above. Her reply was "Your account is closed. You have to pay for the "premium" service on your card." She then removed the $20 late charge and told me to have a nice day.

I do not believe it should be legal to charge a fee for a service I am not using. Now I do believe that should I make a purchase with my card, then apply the fee. Until then I should not have to pay it and especially not now that I have closed my account.

Premium Service

AUTHOR: Atres - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 04, 2007

The difference between "Margaret" and me is that I did not request Premium service, did not use my card and will not now that I have closed the account. No account, no charge - it's pretty easy to understand. Hence, I have my refund. Their account reps and Margaret should know that. Try being more positive.

Read the fine print?

I received a letter from Fashion Bug informing me that they owe me money for just the reasons I stated. No fine print there - the law is the law. You cannot charge a customer for a service they are not using. Too bad the customer service representative I spoke with did not know that - gee maybe that's where Margaret works since she didn't seem to know that either. Don't get ripped off.

I have a Fashion Bug Card and I wanted the Premium Service. If you did not want it you should have told them that when you got the card, its not their fault if you are a bone head!!
