Fast Eddie's Prop Shop Boat Motor did not work after paid for Houma, Louisiana

Around Febuary 23,2010, My husband brought his boat and motor to Fast Eddie's Prop Shop to have the foot of the motor repaired which at an estimate was given of $60.  Prior to the motor being put in the shop, It ran perfectly other than the foot losing oil to our knowledge.  We kept getting the run around about when we would be able to get the boat back. 

We kept calling only to find out the charges seemed to constantly being going up while the boat was at the shop. He supposedly replaced the prop shaft, seal, and ball bearing in the prop shaft.  Finally, on March 2, 2010, I went to the shop to pay for the charges that had incurred.  By then, the charges were $150.00.  As the owner rang up the charges, he told me that if I pay by credit card the charges would be $162.75 and if I wrote a check the charges would be $150.00. 

Unaware of his intentions, I wrote him a check and asked who to make it out to.  He replied, "Make it out to Cash".  Once I handed him the check, he told me that the government doesn't need to know all his income that he brings in.  And he doesn't have to pay sales taxes.  As a business owner myself,  He needs to be reported.  This isn't even fair to the other businesses in this town that he can get away with stuff like this.  This so-called company is a complete rip off.

That afternoon, My husband took the boat to the local boat lauch to test it out.  Only to find out that the boat would die when it was put in gear.  Big Disappointment...

I have recently put the boat in another shop in Houma, Louisiana.  Come to find out, there were pieces broken in the foot of the motor that were not repaired causing it to kill when being put in gear.  Our boat will never see Fast Eddie's again.....
