On many web sites there are "You just Won!" banners flashing, stating that you just won a computer or laptop or other nice item. Then clicking on the ad, you are instructed to fill in your email address and taken to a page that you must complete three of the following ads to get your laptop or whatever.
These ads are gimmicks to get you to spend money on businesses that have hidden charges, like fastauctionprofit. This company claims to be helping the customer by teaching them how to sell on ebay. Their gimmick is to lure you into believing that you are getting a CD to train you in the use of Ebay, for only $1.97.
Unless you are the type person that reads every web page link from that web site, you are going to get screwed over royally. After signing up for your $1.97 CD, you are charged additionally for a membership ... mind you, that fee is not a one time fee but a monthly fee of $49.95 and there is another charge of 9.97 for a live chat fee. HMMMMM live chat?
Anyway, if you are not the type of person that reads every little detail this company has got you by the ba**s. The billing for most credit card companies are every 30 days. Depending on when you made your little charge of $1.97 for what looks like a great deal, to win that great piece of equipment ... 14 days later you are getting another charge for $49.95 without your knowing, shortly after that another 9.95. Oh, they think they have it all covered ...
Your Trial membership is only 14 days, so when you find out all the great news that you just pi**ed away over 50 dollars for nothing, they have you by the ba**s in their terms of service. Yes, and they laugh all the way to the bank. By the way, the CD has all the same information as Ebay has in it contract for sales and buyers. Nothing that you can't read for free.
So for a total cost of $61.87 you get a CD that has info on it that you can read for free on Ebay a BILL for $61.87 and then monthly billing for 59.90 from there on out until you get that credit card bill and figure out that you just got SCREWED ROYALLY.
I called the company, they even said that they send out an email to comfirm your membership. Mine must have gone in junk mail... I don't remember.
TAKE THIS WARNING THOUGH, STAY AWAY FROM FASTAUCTIONPROFIT, UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO READ THE FINE PRINT. THIS IS A SCAM TO GET YOUR MONEY, CAUSE ONCE YOU FIND OUT WHAT IS GOING ON YOU ALREADY LOST $51.92 BY THE TIME YOUR BILL COMES IN.
There should be Internet laws stating all credit card billing must have a 45 day grace period for any type payment or services. This way the customer has time to find out all about the small print, without getting totally screwed out of money for no services or a bunch of bullcrap charges like this company has. READ THE TERMS OF SERVICE!
It all a time game with this company, they have you by the ba**s before you know they have a grip on them. I was screwed over by this company, billed my $1.97 on 2 Oct, then billed $49.95 on the 16th. According to their terms of service they bill 15 days later, well in math classes, 16 minus 2 is 14 ... hmmm isn't 15 days. There is a 14 day free trial, well guess what folks you don't get 14 days you get 13 days cause you are getting billed the 14th day ... I call that breach of contract. ALL LIES! ALL A GIMMICK to just get your money without refund.
The government needs to make laws that protect the comsumer from companies like this.
it appears that this company gets $23.00 dollars per sale, that they can get by with the billing and trial dates... cause folks there is not a refund of anything, you are simply SCREWED!

#3 Consumer Suggestion
They updated there terms of service and tips on how to avoid this in the future
AUTHOR: Ann - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Friday, November 03, 2006
Well after reading this report I went to the website and they have indeed updated their terms of service on October 30 2006
Most likely after getting word of being caught.
Like many I too used to be too gullible believed no one would try to scam me blah blah. Well I learned my lesson the hard way too. Now heres how I check for hidden fees I hope it helps.
Open the terms of service which is generally quite long. Then do a search with your browser for $ thats it. Any charges will be listed there no matter how fine the print.
Oh and also get a paypal creditcard. Works instantly on the web and you know when you have been charged the moment your charged that way should a hidden fee get on you like a after trial date. You know in time to stop it. and Paypal does go to bat for you their consumer..
Anyway hope that helps. Oh and heres a copy of thier new Terms of Service which intresting enough the font is bold and in the last paragraph almost as if they 'just' put it in, lol and are trying to make it hard to miss because of impending lawsuites maybe?

Ok folks, here is another one. No, terms of service, but a statement of possible addional funds to be paid. Even when I visited the site I couldn't click the terms, the site wouldn't respond. Sites like this need to be removed and or forced to put up information showing the addional charges.
(( link redacted by ROR))
Here is where the customer is screwed over, just like the Fastauctionprofit ... same kind of kit, just a different name. I would bet they are related companies.
In order to get in the site, use a John Doe name and fake info it will take you to the 2nd page.

Check your billing dates on your statements. They do not bill according to their terms of service. They stated 15 days and billed me 14 days.
