fastcashloansusa asked for a loan of $3000, was told to put $220 on a Green Dot Money Pak card, call back and after 30/40 minutes I would have the loan in my account and get the $220 back, 1 hour later I was told I had to pay $325 taxes to get this loan. Nationwide

On March 27, 2014, I was contacted by a Mr. Henry Parker at:" 512-394-8766 ext 125" from fastcashloansusa.  He told me I could get a loan for $3,000.00, paying this back at $220 a month for 18 months.  All I had to do was get a: "Green Dot Money Oak" card put $220 on this card and call him back.  After I got this loan which would take only 30/40 minutes and be put into my bank acount I would get a refund on this orginal $220.  I went to RadioShack and bought this card puting $220 on it, came home and called Mr. Parker back. Approximately 1 hour later someone else called from this same company stating I had to pay $325 for the taxes. I told him that you don't pay taxes on a loan.  This person insisted, so I told him I wanted my $220.00 back, that I had No more money to give him.  The next day March 28th, Mr. Parker called me back stating the same. that IRS required the taxes to get paid before the loan could be put into my account.  Again he was told No and that I wanted a refund on my $220., but Mr. Parker told me I couldn't get this refund until I paid the tax and my loan was put into my baml account.  I put my business partner on the phone with Mr. Parker, and Mr. parker still insisted that the tax of $325 had to be paid.  So, as of this report i am out the $220.  from "fastcashloansusa".

The entire 'loan' is a scam, there is no loan - ever

The good news is this: you stopped right after you sent the $220 and didn't fall for the next trick - the IRS taxes. There is no loan. This is called the Advance Fee Loan Scam. It is just as you describe: you filled in some form online looking for a loan and received a call from the scammer claiming you are approved for a loan if you load of $X ($220 in your specific case) onto a reloadable card (in your case Green Dot). There are no legal consumer loans in the USA that allow the borrower to pay an advance fee. So just asking you to load a card and provide the numbers from the reloadable card is the first red flag.

The scam continues with various fees until you catch onto the fact that there is no loan. There will be no refund either. The scammer tells you that there will be a refund to allow time for s/he to play out the scam using the phone number. Go to the FTC(dot)gov website and read up on scams so you can be aware of the signs. Because you sent money, you are now on a list of people that actually sent the funds and you will get other calls from other companies that are also fake to try to scam you out of more money. File a police report with the information you have about these scammers. It is doubtful the police will be able to help, but it is worth trying.
