Federal Government Grant Processing Agency ripoff Saint Petersburg Florida

Like several others I have just read about, I received a call from an Indian man informing me that I had been selected for a government grant of $8000 that I would never have to pay back. I was tired and knew better, so I said I'm not interested and he persisted to ask why I would not be interested in this free grant, but eventually gave up, so done deal, right? No!

Less than 1 week later (on 9/5/2004 in the morning a Sunday and the govt. doesn't work on weekends, right!) the same voice called me back so I decided to listen to what he had to say and take a few notes and also told him he was welcome to send me the information in the mail and I would then decide. He seemed perfectly happy with that and wanted to make sure I wrote down his name for verification etc. It was Dell Samson with an ID # of 0582 from the Government Grant Processing Agency in Saint Petersburg, FL and this grant was for $8000 and I would not have to pay it back (of course I knew this could not be true) and said fine, send me the info, then this is where I think he was learning some from the other calls because he said I would only be charges a 1 time processing fee of $249 that I could pay now or later - I did not have to decide now and never would and knew that is where the scam part was coming from, the $249.

So, next he wanted to verify my address which he had right and then told me he needed to verify my bank name which I would give he although he insisted I had it and there no harm in me giving him the name of my bank - I refused and that was it - I ended up hanging up and if he calls back maybe I can get more info but hopefully these guys/gals get busted before then - hope no one else becomes a victime!
