My package was schedule for delivery on 9/11/2018. I missed the delivery. I used the information on the door tag to pay for a guaranteed delivery time on 9/12/2018. FedEx confirmed they received and agreed to this time 5-8pm 9/12/2018. I wanted to just pick up the package myself on 9/12, but I could not. The sender set the delivery up for no site pickup. 9/12/2018 is critical because I leave town on a flight on 9/13/2018. The package will be returned to the sender before I return.
At 2pm on 9/12/2018 I received a notice that I had missed a delivery. I knew there was a mistake because the delivery time was scheduled from 5-8pm. I called FedEx and spoke with a customer service rep about the situation. The rep informed me that the system had accepted my 5-8pm delivery so that must be a mistake. I explained my issue with leaving on 9/13/2018, at my instance the rep called the local office.
After the rep spoke with the manager, I was told not to worry about the alert. The driver was moving my package to another truck, so it would be delivered at the proper time.
I waited until close to 8 to call back into customer service because I had not received my package. This rep again called the local office and spoke with the manager and confirmed the driver did not deliver it and had left. They would try to get them to come back in. I asked her to call again, I felt it was the managers responsibility to ensure I got my package. I was told the manager said I would not be receiving my package on 9/13/2018.
I asked to speak to a supervisor, the rep transferred me to a customer advocate. Andrew L. Andrew called the location again, but they would not answer the phone. They had gone home, leaving me high and dry. FedEx confirmed and agreed to the date, FedEx could have made this right. I tried to make this work, FedEx did nothing to make this work.
FedEx markets a service guaranteeing dates and times for delivery. They were paid by the sender to deliver, then paid additional money by me to deliver it a specific date and time. After collecting money from both parties, failed to perform the duties they agreed to beforehand. FedEx had the opportunity to deliver the package late. The manager refused to make good on their obligation after being told of my predicament. FedEx demonstrated willful neglect of their agreed to obligations, they had opportunities to correct before I was impacted but flatly refused.
