i bought a 99 honda civic from fenway auto in the beginning of February. At first my step father and I were very pleased with how are search was going that day with looking for a car there. We had a limit on what we were going to spend and they seemed to meet are limits well with a handful of cars. Our sales guy Phil seemed to be a good guy and not your typical car sales person pulling stuff out of there behinds to sell any car. He clamied he Had just started working there that weekend. After about a good half day of test driving handful of cars which most had problems we came across a 99 honda civic which they claimed was out of our price range but would see what they could do.He made a phone call to supposvily the owner and they said 3500 adn thats pushing it and the best will get and what a great deal. Prior to driving it Phil said that we would feel a " surging feel in the engine and thats why the check engine light is on". But the part was on order and would be fixed prior to purchasing the car. As well as the rear door didnt open and lock didnt work and the drivers visor was gone. Other than that the car drove well and was told all the features it had which wasnt many cause its a standard edition including A/C which is a must for me. Now it was winter time so we turned the A/C on for a second and it seemed fine but turned it off quickly. After being convinced that they would fix the surging feel, door, and visor we said ok to buying it. We put 500 down to hold it.

A week later when the car was ready and all the problems were fixed we gave them $3000 cash after double checking everything. I was very pleased then. My car drove well up until April well after the 30 day warrenty of course. I felt my transmission slipping and the surging feeling coming back again. So I brought it to a mechanic to take a look and they recommend a flush. As he was doing that he pointed out to me that my A/C was cut out due to what looked like a prior accident ( car has some front damage). So I came to the conclusion that the prior owners got in an accident and and the A/C was leaking so they just cut it out and kept the insurance money. That made me so mad to realize I did not have a working A/C and that Phil told me I did. The least they could have done was tell us that. Since then I have been try to contact them and no one seems to want to respond to my calls or faxes. I feel very cheated and scammed. They seem like great people and then once they have your cash your dirt to them. Also my transmission is ready to go. They sell junky used cars and priced them low to make you think your getting a great deal when your really not.

They blow you off when you have problems cause they could care less. There money stealing cowards. I feel alot better too after reading other peoples reviews to prove that they are a horrible dealership and very shady. I looked up there other dealerships and find it very strange that they are always changing htere names. Dont beleive them when they said there other locations are owned by other people there not. And the owner last name is Kalil. So the last person to write a reveiw was lied too about being talked to by the owner to. Bunch of no good lieing scumbags. Should not be allowed to get away with lying and basicaly stealing money. Cars a bunhc of crap.

They dont even have the decentcy to call back or fax back and apoligize. Even if they cant do anything to fix the problems which I know they would never do. Goign to make a file to the B.B.B about them.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Why, Why, Why???

Flynrider....

I enjoy your posts. I'd say we are singing the same song!

Some more why's?

1. Why do people sign whatever is placed in front of them and then read what they obligated themselves to a month later?

2. Why do people buy cars SIGHT UNSEEN on the internet? Is there a more concise definition of the word "stupid"?

3. Why do people stay at the dealership when its OBVIOUS they are being defrauded or treated poorly?

4. Why do people reward the dealership by purchasing the car even after it was obvious the dealership lied to them?

5. Why do people buy used cars at the dealership but don't take a test drive?

6. Why do people buy usedd cars before having it checked out by their own mechanic?

7. Why do people miss their payments and then claim "predator lending" when the finance company starts calling?

8. Why do people stay at the dealership for hours and hours rather than walking out?

9. Why do people walk into a dealership hat in hand, leading with their chin and carrying a sign saying "DOORMAT"?

I can go on and on but you get the picture! Just consider #2 above. Those are the future of America!

Be Well!

Why?

Why does everyone take their used car to a mechanic AFTER they buy it? It would save a lot of grief if you'd just take the time to do it BEFORE you buy.

You say :

"Our sales guy Phil seemed to be a good guy and not your typical car sales person pulling stuff out of there behinds to sell any car."

Come on! He's a used car salesman. He did exactly what used car salesmen do. Bottom line, if you don't make an effort to protect your interests, some smiling, backslapping salesman sure isn't going to do it for you.

With the reputation that used car salesman have, it stuns me that people will just take their word for it that a car is everything they say it is.
