In 2008, was doing just fine with Equivest as my Timeshare company. but they had sold out or supposing to have sold the resort to Festivia. Festivia called my room said they would like to show us some of the improvements they had done. So my husband and I attended the meeting, it was a total pressure sales gemic. Festivia sales personel told us that Equivest was going bankrupt, and they had bailed them out but in order to keep the level we had and improve the level we had to buy up to Festivia, that if we stayed with Equivest the maint. dues would triple and soon they would have to sell off their properties.
So we felt we had to upgrade to stay at the level we were at.
They told us we would owe 2900 and some odd amount to upgrade and that with Festivia out maintenane would be half the price of Equivest.
Well long story short it was half for half the points. basically the same price for points but would only get those points every two years.
Now you know anybody that actually was explained this to were they would understand would never change what they had been happy with, much less buy up with more money.
Now we are getting triple maint. bills and even an assement bill that was never discussed that can be any amount they choose, and if past due that will turn you over to collection agent. com on it is my place, not theirs. sue the owner?????
Please, Please, Please, no matter how good they make it sound, STOP!!!!!!!!!

I see that you have now spoken with two people in Owner Services who have tried to answer all of your questions. Just to clarify, our company, just like any other owner, has to pay for maintenance fees on all weeks at our resorts and in our club that we own. We are more than happy to provide you with facts or answer any other questions that you may have if you contact us directly.
We try to provide as much detailed information as possible on how to use your membership in the materials you received at the time of purchase, and on our website. If at any time you are not able to find answers to any of your questions using your member book or our website, you can always contact Owner Services and they will assist you.

was called back by Festiva Rep. Chad, would was nice enough to try and explain the increses, but was only in the respective of Festivia of course.
Due to the number of people not able to pay their maintenance dues it is past to the owner that do try to pay their fees.
Now does that seem fair.?? What does Festiva have to assume.? Oh well I suppose they are a non profit organization ? No Resale are consummed by Festivia , they just sell new weeks? So where do they come from? They do not buy more weeks at the locations, they just tell people that try to book their vacation during popular weeks, there is not availablity.
Also found out today that can not roll over any points on the second year? Only the first year of your two year rollout.
That was also never explained when selling. Just said you could roll over any unused points the the next year.
What a cover up for their Sale's pitches.
So again I say you better be wear of any new contract you sign. Keep what you got and hope for a good year.
