I was contacted around March of 2017 by "Robert Smith " with Fidelity Audit Group through email. After checking into it a little and showing the proposed paperwork to the mortgage company (who said it seemed legit but they could not advise if it was indeed or not),I thought they were legit. He told me it would be $1500 down and broke it into 5 installments of $300. After the last payment in August was satisfied, I was to begin sending $xxx per month to my mortgage company as the arrangement that was made to save my home that is nearing foreclosure. In July, someone stopped in front of my house and was taking pictures. (I was not home, a family member alerted me about it). I contacted Robert Smith and he said they do that up until the 1st payments to the mortgage company is made in the event I didn't fulfill my part. Well, I made my final payment to Fidelity Audit Group in August and I haven't heard from Robert Smith, his assistant Amy or anyone else with that company since. I've called, I've left messages and NO response. I did some research and I'm seeing companies of a very similar name with scenarios just like mine. I'm sure at this point I've been scammed! Where do I go from here? What steps can be taken. I am disabled with a fixed income, just recently started receiving my benefits and I don't make alot. Is there any help?
