Our experience with the Fife RV in Tacoma has been ridiculously un-pleasant, to say the least! For starters, my husband and I knew exactly what we were looking for when we called, and we knew Fife had it, in fact they had two.

As we began the "negotiation process" with Steve Rademacher, he had the audacity to proclaim that he "deserved to make some money off of the deal", before he had even spent any time assisting us. Apparently he deserves to make a commission just for answering his phone... Then he asked my husband if he knew what it felt like to go to work and not get paid for it, (yes, he went there!).

After that phone call we were pretty adamant that we were not going to do business with them, and trust me if there was a comparable coach available we would have driven across the US to get it. BUT there wasn't, so back to Fife we went, reluctantly.

Trusty old Steve finally quoted us a price we could agree on, with $1000 down. We made the plunge.  We called to confirm and drove the 2.5 hours to get there after work, in rush hour traffic.

When we got there we were informed, that the unit we wanted, had been sold.  Steve was going to be gracious enough to let us look through it anyway. Are you frickin' kidding me, you couldn't have told us that on the phone!!

So we waited, (I'm about to implode at this point).  When Steve returned with the keys his story changed, and supposedly the deal fell through, (I'm having a really hard time taking this guy seriously right about now)!

We did the walk through and the brand new unit is a wreck, locks are busted out, stereos have been pulled, doors are crooked, and so on.  Steve assures us that all of that will be taken care of when we pick it up.

Done, we're ready, we'll take it! Suddenly the down payment had increased and we needed $5k to put down. Not a big deal we'll swing it.  As Steve is writing up the paperwork the price miraculously increased another $3000.  At that point my husband had enough he was tired of Sneaky Steve's "used car salesman" tactics.  His tactics paired with the behavior of  cocaine addict could not be trusted, we had to walk away.

Too bad everyone lost out on a good deal today because of a horrible salesman.

Thank you for taking valuable time out of your life to allow me to further clarify my statement.  Because this obviously is such a respectable business, I can understand why you would assume that there was something we did or said to have a salesman try to guilt us in to a price. I regret to inform you that, although Steve didn't answer the phone with, "hello I deserve to make money off of this deal", it was part of his speal- no low ball offers.

Again, I appreciate your concern for the type of RV that we were looking for. Unfortunately for us, the model we wanted was discontinued in 2013. Ordering one direct was not an option. As I stated, if there was another option we would have taken it.

It would appear, my friend, that you are incorrect. Guilt and mis-guidance do not make a good salesman. Quoting someone a price over the phone to get them in the door is not only rude, it's poor business practice. If after reading through the complaints on this page and through out the web, (including the Better Buisiness Bereau and public record of assault and lawsuits), you still wish to defend this business, I'm inclined to believe that you must have some investment in their poor values.

Good luck to you!

Incorrect he was a good salesman...but at least you finally wised up.

As we began the "negotiation process" with Steve Rademacher, he had the audacity to proclaim that he "deserved to make some money off of the deal", before he had even spent any time assisting us.

- So according to this statement he stated something like "Thank you for calling, but just so you know before I even start talking to you I want you to know that I deserve to make some money".  I would bet that it is not exactly how that converstation went down.  Where his statement instead probably came during the "negotiation" where in his mind you just low-balled him trying to get the RV for as little as possible.

We did the walk through and the brand new unit is a wreck

- You were looking at a "brand new" unit?  If you were that particular why couldn't you go to a different dealer and custom order one?
