Fifth Third Bank ripoff Cincinati Ohio

I am writing this complaint because I see the same things happening to everyone reporting here. I too, have had the blessing of overdraft cost, but to the thanks of Fifth Third's Leasing Department. I had just received a bonus check that I intended to use for X-mas to the tune of about $700. I put this into my checking just before Thanksgiving. At this time I made my lease payment. Yes, I was late on the payment but I included the late fee(late by 11 days), without my knowledge the lease department took the payment out of my checking account. I ended up with $320. of overdrafts. When I found out about this 6 days later when I received a letter in the mail I went to my local office and was told "we won't forgive any of the fees because they were within their rights to do this under their Taxpayer 2000 rule. So I contacted the Lease Dept. and they gave us alot of run around but finally agreed to credit our account for Dec. payment. then they told me I still owed a late fee for Dec. How can that be when the money was in their possession as of Nov. 21. It gets better because of all the run around we were having it was Dec. 8th and this late charge had to be paid that day or they would charge me a late fee on my late fee, Great! I know you can believe this because you all seem to be having as much fun as I am dealing with these people.

I now tell everyone who asks me stay away from this bank and to ask a lot of questions when considering any banking institution.
