I ordered this so-called "FILM SCHOOL COURSE" from www.filmschoolonline.com and it is worthless. It didn't teach me anything. The person who wrote this course is supposed to be a NYU film instructor.I am not doubting this, although I have not checked to see if he is or isn't.
But this course, which is advertised as a substitute for a film school education did not deliver what was advertised on thier website.I should have known better when there is no way to contact them through the website. No email address or anything. The only way I have of contacting them is through the email address from when they emailed me my login and password.
This course is 369 pages and they told me that it is 686 pages. This is all from someone named Diana. She also told me that I had 1700 hits on the website, basicall saying that I looked at 1700 pages of this worthless crap course of thiers, all within less than 24 hours.Either I am one incredible SOB or that is another lie.She also told me that out of over ten thousand students worldwide, that is the largest access in that short period of time.Which is another lie of hers.If I found it all to be garbage within the first 10 minutes of reading this junk, why would I have looked at this stuff 1700 times.
Basically what I am saying is this-don't give these people your hard earned money for this worthless crap of a course. It really is garbage.

What a load of crap!!!

Oh Frank you are a genius.I have automated software.Whatever.And this so-called conversation you had with Diana about me,you are a liar.
I love it when someone buys crap and think they bought gold.
And a liberal refund policy.Thats another joke.
If they think I downloaded this crap with automated software, let them come after me.The whole thing is a load of B.S.
Also,Diana never asked me about it and I never threatened her in my emails. You better be careful about what you say about other people when you don't have a clue about what was said.I have every email from her and every email from me to her.Go ahead and tell her if she wants to do anything about me threatening her.She won't because I did not.In fact I don't even have a problem with her.She straightened out a problem that I had.Simple as that.I was unhappy because this program wasn't very thorough.I felt the whole thing was pretty vague.

Ditto Praise

Hey, Oliver, I took the program last year and agree with your praise. Diana is a real sweetheart, too! I emailed her about this crazy guy and she doesn't want to spend any more time on it. She said the school has a liberal refund policy but he downloaded hundreds of HTML pages from their website using automated software. The school pursues piracy, so she asked him about it. He threatened her in his emails. The style of his posts gives you an idea what she was up against. Anyway, good luck with your movies.

I already told you that the reason I bought this course,so I can find new ways of doing what I do.Do you not know how to read???
Well anyway,I got a refund. Thanks to this website and my post.I still think that they are selling a crap course, but at least I got a refund.Even though I have to wait 7-10 days for it(because of the idiot company they use for payments).

You Are Not Target Audience

Jimk, seriously, if you graduated film school (over 10 years ago no less), why on earth would you take a program that is intended for people just getting started? You are not the target audience. You should be making movies by now as I am. I checked the other websites you mentioned which are linked on the homepage. They are FREE sites. One is devoted to digital filmmaking and the other is a film resource site. Again, a lot of good info. I'm not going to beat a dead horse, buddy, but I really think you have to read more carefully. And, jeez, control that anger or no one is ever going to work with you.

If you think this course was good, you definitly don't know what you are talking about!!!

First of all,I do know how to read.Very well in fact. And I am not that young.35 years old,not a kid.
If you go to the other websites for this course, all owned by the same people, you will see that they claim it is a substitute for film school.I am not making thing up here.
Also,I have graduated from New York Film Academy in 1996.I do know what I am talking about. And if you are wondering why I purchased this course if I already attended film school here's why:I have been using the same system for the past 12 years or so and was looking for new ways to do what I do.I mainly do commercials and private work, but I have done some shorts as well.
This course is still junk.Worthless.
Also,I did not print it out.Wasn't worth the ink or the paper, let alone both.If I did print it out,it would be worth less than toilet paper.

Film School Online Was Very Helpful!
AUTHOR: Oliver Wyman - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Friday, September 04, 2009
I took Film School Online's complete program in 2007. I found it very
helpful and must disagree with Jimk's rant, which discredits itself.
First of all, the program is designed to be a home study course not a
substitute for film school. How could it be a substitute for film
school for $49.99? Give me a break. Jimk is either very young or can't
read well. The program is not set up with page numbers so I don't know
what that's all about. Did Jimk print it out? That's like eating a
dinner and then saying you didn't like afterward! Go figure. Whether it
was 369 pages or 686 pages, it is still a LOT of information. The
website has free tutorials so you can get an idea what the paid lessons
are like. No surprises here. Again, I think Jim has a problem reading.
I found Film School Online very informative and well worth the money.
