Paid a $500.00 application fee.Never disclosed any conditions that would disqualify application. Was also told that the fee was to pay for appraisal. Made an online application for myself (I work for a mortgage lender myself) and was prompted to pay a $500.00 application fee. The loan was denied because of something in my background, but there was never any mention of any conditions prior to the submission. I was told verbally by my acct rep that the $ would be use for an appraisal once the loan was approved, so I reluctantly gave them the fee.
After several weeks of begging for an update, I was informed that the offer was being withdrawn, and when i asked about the upfront fee, was ignored for several weeks. I finally was sent a blurb from their application fee that stated that the deposit was non refundable...
They are dishonest and would love nothing more than to charge millions of people $500.00 for nothing......
I should have trusted my judgement, because if it sounds too good to be true...... STAY AWAY!!!!!
