FInancial Services Group, LLC Property Tax Refund Scam Dallas, Texas

Received a mailed notice regarding unclaimed funds in my name. I called in and was told it was overpaid property taxes, and that they would send someone out with all of the paperwork. I asked if I could go to their office instead, which they said no. This of course got me a little bit suspicious, so I ended the call.

Got a call the next day from Ken Graham saying he was in the neighborhood and had my file with him could he stop by and get this taken care of. Second red flag in the back of my head but I agreed to meet him at my home.

I read every line, every word, of every document he had put in front of me. I can guarantee you there was nothing authorizing the homestead exemption refund check to be sent to Financial Services Group, LLC...

However, calls to the Dallas Central Appraisal District and to the county tax collector confirmed my worst suspicions: When they filed the homestead exemption paperwork, they directed the refund to themselves!

I am currently getting the records from the appraisal district regarding what they filed. I suspect they modified the form or transposed my signature onto a different document... will update when I have more details.
