FigerHut is now practicing scare tactic and lieing to square my account. I bought some things like 6 years ago. I was paying just fine although there % rate is outrages.I lapsed on my bill every now and then but always made it up, to which the interest rate was just ridiculous. I have had some major medical problems and spinal surgeries since then and my bill did go real lapsed for a while. There collection dept called me and the woman said I could write off my account balance if I paid $60.00. I owed $160.00. I said yes , Ill borrow the money since I am on supplementary disability to which I get nothing a month from that. Then she told me,"Oh No!! They would have to take it directly from my checking account". I told her I had no checking account. She called me a liar and I got very upset and couldnt belive she would not take a $60.00 money order at all. She refused my money. I then hung up when she got very ill with me. I refused to pay on that account anymore. I had several other people from there call me saying the same thing with me. I again would not pay on that rip off account anymore. As it was if I sent $10.00 only $4.00 went to my actual account. It was like my account was never going down. I have been so harrassed by FingerHut ever since to which when they would call iI would just hang up. Now I am being harassed by a comapny they use called...LTD Financial Services, in Houston Tx. The man was pretty much the same way. He wanted me to get an account number from a friend or family memeber and pay my account off to which has risen from non-payment to $350.00 from what I originally owed of $160.00. He told me I could not send a money order.

Now I have never heard of any company not excepting a money order and this leads me to belive ( because this has happened to a friend of mine from a medical bill owed) that if I had an account and gave them my info to directly withdrawl money from there they would have taken the full amount and not just the $60.00. I told the LTD man that you cant suck blood from a turnip and I would send $20.00 and if they dont want it to send it back to me and that I will put it to better use.

FingerHut IMO is a lousy ripoff scam company now and there products are really awful anyway. The bedding I bought I cant even use anymore and the blender I bought makes and always has a loud grinding noise, but it works. I just wanted you to know that I have done research and others have had similiar problems with them. They were never like this till they changed over IMO. This is not the way to do business to scam customers. Like I said I had paid on that account since I started actualy ordering from them in the 90's then they went down hill. I have bought things from them in the past and always paid my account off. I have payed off many purchases but this time they just wouldnt give me a break. I was willing to pay what they asked to pay it off and they refused. I have been told to record any more conversations since in my state of Tennessee is within the law as long as one of the parties knows they are being recorded and that would be me. The man at LTD Midland Funding even went so far as to keep repeating.."So you are refusing to pay your bill". I kept telling him , " no but I will pay only what I ow and that is the $160.00". I told him they are the ones and FingerHut that are refusing my Money order and not letting me pay what they said they would let me (the $60.00) He said that they could file a civil suit. I said go ahead. I think a judge would laugh you out of the court room. I did try and pay. As long as a person pays something, and is in the condition I am in and cant work they cant do a dang thing to me. As i have read many other postings here , not a one it sems has gone to court over owing a bill. if they would even get better products maybe people wouldnt be so upset and stop paying there crappy products. I can get most of this stuff at a Dollor General and have seen the same products there. Dont let this pcompany fool you. Dont let them into your account. Ever. They are liars and scam artist. Even the collection company.Record your conversations if its not against the law in your state. Just google and check on that. Keep a journal everytime you speak to them.

You're Going to Have a Rough Time...

AUTHOR: Elaine - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, August 18, 2006

You will have a rough time because 1) you admit you purchased the Fingerhut items, 2) you admit you defaulted on your agreement to pay them more than once 3) you didn't send payment.

You should have sent the money order anyway. They'll cash it. You are correct: they want your bank info so they can seize it. But they'll take the money order. If they don't, and they return it to you, that would be PERFECT documentation to show the court how you made efforts to pay the debt, they refused it.

Don't deal with them or any creditor over the telephone. They'll confuse you and get you to admit things on tape you never intended to say.

Good luck, but I'm sure you're in for a rough ride unless you file for protection with bankruptcy.
