I personally did not work for Atlanta business consulting or veritas but worked for a very similar company called First American payment systems(ill get into that and the "manager" later) These are all 3rd party companies selling Internet, cable, merchant processing, you name it. They call you in for an interview and kinda fill your brain with mush about how positive thinking will always get you what you want. Though I'm a firm Believer in The Secret(law if attraction) the truth is, believing you can be successful with this line of work will only take you so far.

A close friend worked for Ed Cunliffe for a year and a half and then with Sam Carlile at First American(now Payscape advisors). In the Interview they make it sound like you'll easily make $350 a week if you work hard. Truth is most of the business owners you pitch get bombarded on a daily basis with sales men. If you are fortunate enough to close a deal you'll maybe make $200. But there is no gas reimbursement, car allowance, you have to pay for your meals and you work from 8am-7pm. No health insurance or benefits. You will spend a lot of $$$$!!

I am fortunate to work for a bank now. I am still in sales but I have a comfortable base salary plus uncapped commission. I have benefits and I am not putting 1000 miles a week on my car. The one positive is that you do learn how to relate customers and the "psychology of sales" through working with these Cydcor companies. But if you're ethical and feel its best to be clear and upfront about the product you are selling, reconsider your career path. The chance that you'll actually run your own office is very slim and even if you do get promoted out you have to hope you can lure enough reps to do this kinda work to keep your office running.
