On or about 2/28/03 I made a contract with First American Debt Solution and I was to make to them the payment of $1,537.00. On or about 4/14/03 I made a payment to them of $481.00. The following months I made automatic withdrawls in the amount of $96.00 until the amount of $1,537.00 was complete.
In March of 2004 I contacted First American Debt Solution by email to let them know that these payments were complete. I contacted First American Debt Solution by phone often and always had to leave a voicemail and they never returned my calls. About the first week in Jan 2005 I finally talked to someone in this company and was told I would receive a phone call within 24 hours about my account and to this day have not received any call.
I came in contract with First American Debt Solution to negotiate settlements in my bad debt accounts. To this date they have never settled any of my accounts and have totally ignored my account.
I recently received a letter from them asking for referrals and have found this letter offensive as they are asking for me to advise my friends of First American Debt Solution when they have done nothing for me.
I have written a letter to them and inform them I want a refund in the amount of $1,537.00. I have contacted the the State Attorney General in both Texas and Washington. I have also contacted the Better Business Bureau in Dallas, Texas.

DON"T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS FIRST AMERICAN DEBT SOLUTION

The name should be First American Debt NO solution. After going back and forth with this company, I have had communication with Doug Barker and he says he will settle for $500.00. That means that First American debt NO solution will profit $941.00 and would have settled ZERO of my accounts. They have ruined my credit even worse then it was and they have profited for NOTHING.
Do not do business with this company unless you want to lose money. If you have bad credit they will only make it worse. They will make you promises and when they get your money they will break them. Mr. Barker will seem nice on the phone and then stab you in the back. Listen to me and listen to Shelly.
This company has been reported to the Deptartment of Justice, Consumer Affairs, Washington State Attorney General, Texas State Attorney General and many others. They are being investigated. Stay away. I will be filing a law suit soon.

Using a credit service companies to plead down your debt has the same impact on your credit report as bankruptcy. The difference?, with these clowns you get the bad credit and still have to pay the debt.
In a former life I was a Vice President with one of the largest credit card companies in the world. We never took settlements with the guys.
On the other hand, if you contacted us directly, we would work out a plan.

Ex-employee of First American Debt These people are only in this business to make money from consumers who feel helpless

Let me just say this...When I realized what was going on there and tried to give customers good advice about the Fair Debt Collections Act and rights that consumers have, I was locked out of the office and fired because of my actions. The reason I was given was that they were losing customers and it was my fault.
Let me give you some names: Scott DeMoss, he is the "co-owner", they also have another company in Irving, Texas, Liberty Debt.
These people are only in this business to make money from consumers who feel helpless. DO NOT CALL THEM!!! Everything they say they are doing if BS. Hope all this helps. And I would definitely consider legal action.
