First Associates And Consultants, LTD , Mr. Greg Williams Warning: Scam by a Company Called First Associates And Consultants, LTD Brandon Florida

While searching for jobs on Careerbulider.com, I received an unsolicited email from a company called First Associates And Consultants, LTD, a Mr. Greg Williams, Consultant/HR Manager, stating they had gotten my resume off the website. They informed me that they wanted me to be a secret shopper and that the money would be sent to me via money order. I was to take $150 from the amount and the rest was to do the job they had asked of me.

My first job was for a CVS store here in Georgia for a money order stating that there was a problem with receipents not receiving their full amount of the money order. I did not have to give my ssn nor my bank account information.

I filled out the form, which required my name and my address, three (3) days later I received a money order in the amount of $940.28 to be sent minus the $150 to a particular person in Akron, OH. Mind you I was to take this money order to my bank to cash it. Upon receiving the instructions I noticed that I had the persons name, and state, but no physical address. Because I had found this rather odd, I replied back to Mr. Williams, stating that I had spoken to my lawyer (which I did not) and was told not to do anything with this money order as a scam was going around like this.

Basically what happens is you cash the money order at your bank, then this "so called" company calls your bank and says it is a fraudlent money order and you lose the amount of your money order in my case it would have been $940.28 from your account and your bank then closes your account and it goes onto your credit report.

I also informed Mr. Williams that there was no physical address on the instructions as to where I needed to send this money order and because I on the advice of my lawyer (which again, I never contacted) was not comfortable doing this, asked Mr. Williams what he would like me to do with his money order and where should I send it back to. Needless to say, I have not heard back from Mr. Williams or First Associates And Consultants, LTD since I sent out that letter.

I think it is a shame that the way the economy is today and the fact that soooo many people are looking for jobs that this "so called" company is able to post hiring jobs on a site like Careerbuilders.com.

Thank goodness I had the foresight to question the goings on of this "so called" company and found out before I actually decided to proceed with the money order.
