Likie many others on this site reported, my situation is very similar. I went First Choice Emergency as my daughter has the stomach flu. They set up shop near a minor emergency that I was looking for. When I walked in they did explain that they were an emergency room but could see my duaghter for the stomach flu. When I asked about costs, i was told that my insurance would cover. A doctor met with my daughter and gave her a prescription. I was sent off as again I was told no charge because my insurance covers.
A month later, I received a bill for $2,492.10! Ini no way shape or form did they represent that they would do this. They should warn you up front versus enouraging you to stay there versus leaving to go to Minor Emergency.
I understand why everyone feels ripped off as I lived through it as well and it went down just like it did with the other complaints that I read here.

Since you have insurance you should have received an explanation of benefits (EOB) from your insurance company explaining the payments to this company. If not, take is up with your insurance company. IF your daughter had the stomach flu what are you doing going to an Emergency clinic?? Could you not have called your Family Physician?
They have no clue if your insurance will cover the cost or not. AND what other reports are you referring to?? IF you go to an ER anywhere you are subject to incur the cost associated with the facility. ERs are for EMERGENCIES period ie: Heart attack, life threatening situations, etc etc NOT the stomach flu. And NO I do not work for this company or any company associated with this facility. I used to work for a Health Care company and know all too well the bitching about costs with healthcare - so talk to your insurance company because if it was out of their network then you are responsible for this cost.
