FCNB gave me a secured credit card for $150 with my deposit of $100 back 15 years ago. I moved away out of state and owed them a total of $25 dollars. I kind of forgot about them in the past as 15 years have gone by and they are not on my credit report and I never got another bill from them. I have a credit score of 835 and I just got a phone call from these a-holes on my cel phone which no one has except my relatives and is on the do not call list. They are telling me I owe them $985 and will settle for $650 15 years later from a $25 debt. I heard they are not even in business anymore and its a stupid collection agency which I just screamed at the woman and made my blood boil. I thought after 7 years it clears anyways. How the hell can they come after me 15 years later for $25 telling me I owe $985. This is the 3rd collection agency calling me in the last 15 years. Hell, the people calling me were 7 years old when I had this credit card. WHat do I do? I am not paying them for a $25 debt, and for a bank who is outta business. Then the stupid woman on the phone threatened me by saying she was going to report the balance to the credit reporting companies.

He is another leech scum sucking bottom feeding bill collector.
It would be best to contact a lawyer and discuss this matter with them because they are professional and are the ones who handle these types of bottom feeding leeches, and that would be through the website NACA.net.
If you want to handle this yourself, you need to send the 3rd party collection agency a letter to asking them to validate the debt. They have only 30 days to produce this. This will tell you how old it is and all of the particulars, etc. Assuming it is past the statute of limitations in your current state (you better check on this at the states website) and you have received a validation letter, send the bottomfeedres a Cease Communications letter. They will have to stop all communications with you at this time. They may try to send a bad credit notice to the 3 top reporting agencies or they may take you to court.
If they send it to the credit agencies, then send a letter to the credit agencies with a copy of the validation letter and tell them it is past the statute of limitations. They may also threaten legal action in court. Do not ignore any court summons. Proceed to court and tell the judge, this is an old debt that has past the stature of limitations file for a motion to dismiss based on that fact.

ON ONE LINE, YOU SAY YOU DIDNT HEAR ANYTHING BOUT THIS FOR 15YRS BUT ON ANOTYTHING BOUT THIS FOR 15YRS BUT ON ANOTHER LINE YOU SAY THAT AT LEAST 3 OTHER AGENCIES HAVE CONTACTED YOU OVER THE YEARS. ALSO, IF MCM HAS PURCHASED THE ACCT IT DOESNT MATTER IF THE ORIGINAL BANK WENT OUTTA BUSINESS. ALSO, ITS USELESS TO MENTION THAT YOUR ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST AS I T ONLY APPLIES TO TELEMARKETERS. PLEASE GET YOUR STORY TOGETHER & REPOST
