First Move Van Lines ripoff- BREACH OF CONTRACT & GROSS ERRORS!! false promises Tarzana California

First Move screwed me & my fiance a few weeks before our wedding. The move was from Santa Barbara to Boston and the scheduled date was July9-10. The furniture and all of our wedding apparel was not only delivered 41/2 WEEKS LATE but it was held for ransom by another company that we had never heard of or talked to!

There were MANY false promises, and there was never once an apology for screwing up. We had to leave Boston to go to our wedding in the south without our clothes or wedding items that were in the boxes (that were promised to be there!). We had to buy ALL NEW CLOTHES, shoes, etc. for our wedding!

The owner, Eli Cohen, was miserable to talk to and deal with. He attempted to give us a $300.00 discount for the "mistake" (he never admitted there was any mistake). Not only was there a complete breach of contract, our furniture was handed over to another company (First Move's arch-nemesis), and we were blackmailed by the owner (Ofer Abukasis) of the 2nd company (West Coast Movers) for more money.

Eventually, after many attempts to retrieve our furniture from a facility in Boston (since it was signed by the 2nd company), they allowed us to pay for the storage (originally included in the total price) and the movers to deliver it!

We slept on hard-wood floors and had to eat out every meal bc EVERYTHING was in the move! We spent a huge amount of money having to do these things and First Move claimed that $300.00 was "more than generous" for our needs.

Thus, we are pursuing legal action to get back our thousands of wasted money on this situation.

DO NOT use First Move Van Lines or anyone they recommend!!!

PLEASE pass this story along to everyone. On this website alone, there are 2 other complaints against First Move. They do not practice good or fair business!!

And yes, we checked with the BBB prior to using them, and this still happened.
