On April 5, 2005 around 6pm I recieved a call from a Sam Wilson, ID #101008, who said he was a representative for First National Benefits. He informed me that i was chosen to recieve $12,500, which was a govenment grant kick back check from my 2002 taxes which I explained that i had not filed, but he insisted that it didnt matter and I was guaranteed to recieve that money and there was no catches.

I was told that all I had to do is answer a few questions and inform them of my bank name, location, and account number for them to place the 12,500. He said that I would be responsible for a one time processing fee of $29.95 that would be taken out of my account with in 3 to 4 days after recieving documents in the mail that I would have to fill out and return as quickly as possible. As soon as they recieved those papers back I was quaranteed to get the $12,500 transferred into my mothers account, at which time I would be charged $295.95 that would be taken out of that money for their services. Repeatedly he guaranteed me that It would only cost me $29.95 processing fee and the rest would come out of the $12,500. I then had to answer some questions on a automated operator.

My sister was listening on the speaker phone and heard everything that was said. She heard him say that I would recieve some documents with in 2 to 3 days, which never showed up with in that time period so she called the number to the service center and was treated very rudely and was informed that they had already taken the $29.95 out of my mothers checking account and that if we hadnt recieved the documents by the following week, to call them again. Thats when I decided to research the company and found these fraud statements that were almost identical to the speach that was given to me.

One week later I finally recieved the so called document, which ended up being a letter that was stuffed with sheet of styrafoam which talked about health care plans, and recieving a package within three to four weeks from the time I signed up; which would explain how to recieve government grants. It also says that i would have 7 days to review the information sent and if I didnt cancel then I would be charged $299.95. None of this was what was told to me. As soon as I seen this paper work I called and cancelled but was informed that they talked to my mother cuz that is who's account i gave for them to deposit the money into, and they never even talked to her, not once. After a small dispute, they finally they gave me a cancellation number which is NB351, but they kept the $29.95.

I have all the information they sent and the letter was signed by Erika Roberts, Director of Customer Service. They never said anything about me having to apply for grants, as a matter of fact, they guaranteed me that all I had to do is fill out and send in the paper work that would be rushed to me in 2 to 3 days and they would deposit $12,500.00 into my account and there was no catches. If it wasnt for all my medical conditions that need medications and I have no insurance so it all comes out of my pocket and it gets really hard when I have no income, I probally would of researched it a little further before getting my hopes up and doing such a foolish thing like believing the government was just going to give me money without a fight.
