Specifics of issue in dispute:
Problem with transmission began in mid January, 2009. Transmission had previously been repaired under Chrysler warranty in December 2007 by Fitzgerald Chrysler/Jeep, the car dealer that sold me this vehicle. The 12 month guarantee had expired. So had the 7 year/70,000 mile warranty.
Van brought to AAMCO Transmissions in Clearwater, Fl. and on 1/29/09, AAMCO faxed service records as per request of John at FirstWarranty Group. John says work and records are in order, but says that First Warranty Group will not give PO or credit Card info to AAMCO- He says that it's responsibility of car owner to pay upfront, then submit original bill to First Warranty Group for reimbursement.
Work is completed and I pay the bill. I then send the receipt via certified mail to First Warranty Group.
First Warranty sends letter dated 2/11/09 saying that I have not supplied required service documentation. But this was not the case they had already received it via the fax from AAMCO.
Regardless, I consult with the Florida Office of Consumer Affairs, and mail the entire packet of receipts to First Warranty Group via certified mail.
They write back 2/25/09 saying they have never received the required docs. I send them a certified letter as follows:
Dear First Warranty Group:
I received the enclosed letter dated February 25, 2009, today, February 28, 2009. It is regarding information that I have supplied twice, once via the AAMCO dealer who faxed the requested maintenance receipts to and received authorization from your employee John in early February - and more recently, in a package I mailed on February 24, 2009.
So, in review,
1. you received the original AAMCO cost receipts which I paid for out of pocket via a certified mail I sent back on February 4, 2009:
2. you received multiple faxes from AAMCO which were copies of my maintenance work on the Chrysler 2003 T&C and your employee John approved the costs as customary and reasonable prior to AAMCO effecting repairs. I spoke with John and he instructed me to pay upfront for the repair work and that I'd be reimbursed.
3. Additionally, I certified mailed a package on February 24, 2009 with the same exact maintenance receipts that AAMCO previously faxed to you to your new address which you received on February 26, 2009. (as listed above)
SIncerely,
I mailed all correspondence certified mail.
In the end I received a form denial letter from First Warranty, again claiming I failed to show adequate maintenance records.
The BBB of North Carolina has closed my complaint as UNRESOLVED, being First Warranty didn't reply to them as they should have. The NC Consumer Protection Agency/Attorney General's Office has acted on my behalf and are awaiting a reply from First Warranty Group, which appears to never be coming.

First Warranty Group failed to reply to the AG's request for their side of the facts regarding my claim.
The NC therefore sent out another request for information due immediately.
I'll know soon what the next steps are, based on whether First Warranty replies or not.
