I have maintained my loan in Excellent standings with 5th 3rd Bank for 2 yrs, the duration of the finance, and now time has gotten harder since then. I have tried speaking with a Rep there and she had no lack of concern of my situation. Just rude, ugly attitude is all that I've gotten. Due to me not having insurance within the radimly checks that they have, later they chose to send me an updated booklet with an adjustment of paying them $731 mth instead of my regular payments of $450. mth. Out of the 2 yrs. of being an customer with this bank never been late on my payments and never had to call them with any type of situation whats so ever.

I've just made payment on my orginal amount in Dec. of 08 so they have place the diffrence into collection along with the following mth bill which has not arrived at this time. The collection agency has been so rude and ugly which I know that they are doing what they were told to do as I was told. Shamefuly that they put the diffrence of $215. along with the next 2 mths amount of $731. into collection with me owing them a total of $1600 to $1700. A Total ripp off. Now I have been getting threats of reposession if I fon't pay the amount above. Also I was told that even if I was to get insurance there afterwards I would still have to pay them for the mths of uninsured.

Well, what did you expect?

Did you think that the bank would be okay with you driving around in what is (legally speaking) their car without insurance? They have every right to place an insurance policy on the car if you won't.

You're lucky that you didn't get in a car accident. If you had hit someone, you'd be in the hole for damages, medical expenses, lost income, etc... If you think that you can't afford insurance, wait until you're on the receiving end of a lawsuit.

I am sorry to say, this is standard procedure when you have a loan that requires insurance. If the bank finds out you done, it's written in the fine print that they will be forced to find insurance for you and then charge you for it. The are not just raising your rates, they are charging you for the insurance you should have had in the first place. If in fact you did have insurance during that time, you should be able to get thos documents from your insurance company and give them to 5/3 and they might be able to do something about it.

Good luck!
