Agreement was for framing the basement as well as rough in of new bathroom location. This work was never completed and what was done was terrible. Contract was for framing of my basement as well as relocating the bathroom rough in and capping the original bathroom plumbing. The contract was issued on May 9th 2013. The work performed was so poor that much of it required it to be redone in order to properly hang drywall on the framing. List of specifics here... 1. All bulkheads in the main room were not level and needed to be disassembled and corrected. 2. The bulkheads in the main room were so far apart that they were not suitable for drywall. To correct we had to add another bulkhead, as well as run additional 2x4's between the bulkheads in order to support drywall. 3. Instead of cementing over the drains they had been covered using drywall compound to patch cement. After removing drywall compound it was discovered the drains were not capped and just filled with insulation. 4. Framed in a small area around the sump pump including a small access door, which would have been fine, except there is a water shut off valve above the sump pump. To correct this we had to take apart half of the framing in this area and frame in a full length door. 5. No framing was added in order to drywall the ceiling next to this small area around the sump pump, as well, no box was made to accommodate the small gas pipe that protruded from the wall at the ceiling line. We installed all of this. 6. The bathroom door was framed in a 27" wide opening with a height of approximately 75", which means a 25" x 72.5" door. No such door exists. To correct this we had to disassemble the bathroom bulkhead and move it out 3" and reassemble and then re frame the door accordingly. 7. When John came back to level the bathroom bulkhead he did not install anything at the top of the bulkhead for drywall to be secured to. We corrected this during the work we did with the door frame. 8. The small wall at the ceiling at the bottom of the stairs was not framed in at all and not suitable for drywall. We framed this in. 9. The 2 walls that meet at the main drain pipe in the bathroom were framed as such that the drain actually protruded from the corner of these walls. To correct this we had to completely frame over the right wall to bring it out far enough in order to cover and be able to drywall over the drain. 10. Underside of the stairs in the washroom was not framed for drywall at all. All of this additional work had set the project behind by approximately 1 month and had incurred significant additional costs which had not been budgeted for in order to just correct all the issues. Not to mention additional costs as the drywaller charged us for additional preparation which should have been completed by John at Fix up your place. This work was quoted at $3500 and was paid for by email money transfer. Half was paid up front and the remainder in 2 installments after John had returned twice to fix issues. We had contracted John as he did sound professional and made some good suggestions. Unfortunately we are not experienced when it comes to home renovations and only discovered all of the issues when other contractors came in and identified all of the issues. If I had known that the level of quality was going to be so poor and cost so much extra time and money, we may have completely reconsidered the project.

John at Fix up your place now has a new website, I suspect to avoid being associated with negative posts like this one as well as the ones on the BBB website.  It has been updated from www.fixupyourplace.ca.  New website but I suspect the business practices havent changed.
