This company calls me at work and states that she has made several arrangements with me (from which this women has never called me) and I have broken them. She tells me that I havent made a payment since May, now I can say that my payments have been late a couple of times but I have just never stopped paying them, I western union all my payments. So I let her go on for about 5 min like this her screaming at me and intimidating me about how we need to get a payment in so I tell her I get payed every 2 weeks and I will send this much in on payday, she gets angry with that suggestion so I ask her what do you want me to do she says I want the payment by 5 pm so I tell her I need to call you back in 30 minutes when I get break. That wasnt good enough for her she says when the phone call ends that will be the end of the discussion. She goes on treating me like I am some 10 year old. And then starts rambling on very rude about where is the car, Where is the car? This conversation about where the car was went on for a good 10 minutes, I was the bad guy not wanting to surrender the car. This lady would not let me speak to anyone else about this matter. This company loves to harass there car owners, they work with no one and when you ask question you are the idiot. The workers at Flatiron are very rude they must get commission for every car that gets repoed. I do hope this company is put out of business, they need to learn customer service.

#3 UPDATE EX-employee responds

A bit of reality and responsibility

AUTHOR: Former Collections Agent - (U.S.A.)

OK, so let me start by saying my intentions here are not hurt anyone's feelings or to say your feelings are not valid. All feeling are important but we must remember as independent adults as we all are we must do what we say, say what we mean and mean what you say. If not one thing will lead to another. Let me explain some things to all of you.....

Car Loan = Interest (simple interest)

Say its 14.74%......all of this company's loans are high interest/high risk they are all 17% or up. If you have a loan with this company, they are probably lucky to be funded to begin with. You do not get bad credit from paying your bills on time every month.

Cost of Car + Interest Rate (Per Diem)

$15,432.90 $5.00 per day (example#)

on a 60 month loan monthly payments would be $367.28. If every single payment is on time no matter what you would end up paying $22,444.30 after 60 months. This is only when you pay on time. That is $7,011.40 in just intrest.

Lets just say you go past your due date....what happens is your "per diem" DOUBLES ITSELF and rolls itself to the end of your loan as accumulated in a "balloon" payment for each day of delinquency. Therefore, instead of $5.00 of daily interest, you pay $10.00 and this does not include possible late fees. Then when you cannot make your payments at all, you use an offer called a Deferment. This puts one month of your car payments to the end of your loan "balloon payment. So if you do not pay your bill every month on time, get deferments, and continue the same cycle repeatedly. NO your car will never be paid off and you will always owe more than its worth. This is all in the contract with a signature from the person being held accountable at work or not.

No callbacks are allowed because...really? Like your going to call back?!? If you had the money, you would have mailed it off 7-10 days before your due date. Western Union is called a speed pay for a reason as well. It is immediate. Why pay an extra $12.95 for a speed pay? Think about it.

As far, as anyone threatening to take your vehicle from you and asking for its location? Please Google F.D.C.P.A. it clearly says you cannot be threatened with something we do not actually have the intentions to do. I can say at least once a day you get someone on the phone that is unable to deal with ramifications of defaulting on a contract no matter if its 5 days past due or 100+. A due date is a due date for a reason. They will say come pick it up then, if you wont let me pay 35 days past due 28 out of 32 payments. Once you request a Voluntary Repossession its procedure to ask its location. All phone calls are recorded. If this really happened, go get a lawyer and have the audio tape pulled in court by a judge.

I am not here to claim to be perfect. However, I do read, especially things with my signature on them and would suggest the same to everyone else. I would suggest keeping your children out of your avoidance tactics and do not let them screen your calls. If I ever had someone calling me for a MONTHLY payment for something I knew I was responsible I would have a plan ready and know exactly when I would make the payment and keep my word when saying it.

Yes, they do keep track of how many "promises" you do not keep. In the years, I worked there. I have seen maybe five accounts that did not fall in this type of category. It was when the customer service line was down and they came to our collection department. That reminds me. A position in collections is different from a position in customer service. I think the differences of the job requirements and qualifications are rather obvious.

Good luck to everyone that thinks this company is "out to get them" or harass in any type of way. Responsibility and accountability is something every one should focus on no matter who you are but especially if denial clouds your forces within.

The fact that you even have a loan with peak5 says that you dont like to pay your bills. The person you talked to was a collector, not customer service. Collectors have to be firm or people like you would never pay. Take responsibilty for your bad habits and if you dont want them calling you, just pay your d**n bill on time. Grow up and while your doing that jar loose of the money, or dont sign a contract to do so.
