We purchased a 2003 custom built American Tradition 40T. We have experienced several problems and defects since we picked up the coach in June of 2003. After bringing our motorhome to the Fleetwood American Coach factory eight times for repairs to several major problems, they have been unable to repair the most severe ones. The first major problem is water leaks into the motorhome everytime is rains and the slide out are out. The second major problem is the motorhome was not built on the Spartan Chassie correctly. It leans to the right about an inch and a quarter.

American coach tried to level the coach using the air bags which changes a critical distance between the chassie and the rear end. This resulted in pre-mature failure of the universal joints. I feel the body of the motorhome was built un-square to the frame. This would explain the reason the slide out do not seal correctly and the fact that the motor home looks like it is leaning to the right. Spartan has determined that the floor of the coach is parallel to the chassie. Fleetwood, American Coach has not been able to correct either of these major problems as well as many other smaller problems to date. We have not been able to use our coach in over a year. Still Fleetwood refuses to replace or refund our money. They feel that they should have one more chance to fix the problems. We have put approximately 5000 mile on the coach just driving it to the factory and home. As well as spending over a month total at the factory, camping in their parking lot. Would like to hear from anyone else who has experienced a similar problem.
