Florida Built Right James Lynn Moyer Faulty construction of our master bathroom caused extreme damage and dangerous health issues ,mold throughout, in our lovely condo on Marco Island Marco Island Florida

We hired Mr Moyer as our general contractor to replace our master bathroom shower.  He also needed to do electrical, plumbing and tile work. Mr Moyer was pleasant and easy to work with.  Before making the final payment, we asked that a problem with the shower floor be repaired.  He contacted his sub-contractor, Tri Star Tile, from Marco Island and a new floor was placed on top of our shower flooring.

My husband and I have had a debilitating cough for nearly 2 years since the shower was replaced.  We saw several doctors about this but never became well.

Last March, we were surprised to see our wall paint bubbling in several area-not near the bathroom.  At first we suspected a leak from our ice maker.  Our appliance repair man did not find this to be the cause.  We hired our condo's fire and water company but they couldn't locate the problem. We then hired Sleuth to find where this strange water was coming from.  They spent 3 full days searching and did find a leak from our shower floor, under our large bath tub, under the marble floor, under the bottom of the vanity, into the kitchen wall, and all through our den walls.  The leak was continuous and had been going on since the new shower was installed.

Knowing that a poorly installed shower was responsible for all this considerable damage and our health problems, we called Mr Moyer. He came by and claimed we were wrong in blaming him.  He refused to help compensate us for all our loss.

During the repair project, our new contractor took many photos showing where the leak occurred.  We again contacted Mr Moyer.  He refused any responsibility for the shower that he installed.

We have documented all this and feel Mr Moyer should not be allowed to practice as a contractor.  We have spent 5 months repairing several rooms, all personal items were either cleaned or thrown away. H2O Hygiene serviced worked prior to the reconstruction in body suits for 3-4 weeks before work could be done.  Mr Moyer should accept responsibility and compensate us  for all our 'out of pocket' expenses.  As a contractor he is required to provide his clients with a guaranteed job. No words are enough to share what we went through.  Please never-ever hire him.
