Florida Capital Recovery Claimed no upfront costs, then wanted thousands of dollars before proceeding Hallandale Beach Florida

After I had been scammed out of $25,150 by Rick Ronveaux (Frontier Real Estate & Development) in 2013 and had filed various complaints against Ronveaux for fraud with various government agencies, I was contacted repeatedly by Florida Capital Recovery, which urged me to hire it to recover the funds of which I had been defrauded.

I did not hire Florida Capital Recovery because although I was quite willing to agree to its terms of paying 33% of any funds recovered, I grew suspicious of the firm's legitimacy because although I was told by Roderick that I would have to pay "nothing upfront," the firm made repeated offers to obtain my business, each and every one of which would have involved my paying the firm thousands of dollars to cover its costs before it would proceed.  This is an obvious contradiction and to me suggests dishonesty and unscrupulousness.

Other recovery firms declined to take my case, presumably because the potential amount to them (a percentage of the $25,150 that in theory might be recovered) was not large enough to compensate for the costs and risks to them.  My guess is that recovery firms are like literary agents: legitimate literary agents do not charge fees to writers for representing their works; legitimate literary agents make money from authors only as a percentage of advances and royalties that publishers pay for publishing the author's works.  Florida Capital Recovery, apparently, makes money from charging fees to clients, regardless of whether the client ever recovers any of the money from the original ripoff.  This is why I suspect that Florida Capital Recovery is not a legitimate operation, and I would advise others to get competent legal advice and counsel before hiring this firm and paying it any money.
