Florida Child Support Enforcement Continues overcollecting from diasbled dad leaving him destitute Tallahassee Florida

There was an order for child support that was done while Dad was employed. A year later the father was permanently disabled and requested a modification of support in April 2006. This request was completely ignored. When dad became eligible for medicaid and CSE services due to his low income and disability he again begged CSE to modify the support order to no avail. He was told to send a $50 filing fee to the clerk of the court to set a filing date, the check was cashed but that is all that happened. Numerous phone calls and hours on hold have been useless.

Calls to Tallahassee and Sila Miller at 880-922-9590 have gone unreturned after her initial promise to find out what the problem is. The state has taken well over 50% of the fathers $600 SSDI for the last two years leaving him with less than enough money to buy food much less survive. The child was spending 30% of the time with her father until this summer when she came to live with him fulltime.

The state refuses to stop or even modify the support amount. It is useless to call because IF they answer, the person will be completely ignorant of the working of their office and will attempt to find any reason to hang up on you. None of the employees have a supervisor that is able to speak on the phone and I have yet to speak to a pleasant person that has any inkling of what is going on.
