 I had the misfortune of injuring myself while working for a company "insured" by this poor excuse for an insurance company. Turns out the company was self-insured and only you them is a front. Three months out of work, they decided to cut off disability until my doctor filled out forms for them. That's understandable, however my doctor required a full functional capacity exam to fill the form out and that cost a lot of money. They didn't care and my company while telling me it was ridiculous never told them to go ahead and continue paying. After I got an FCE stating I was incapable of even sedentary work, less than two months later, they did it all again. This time did not TELL me that they were cutting it off or provide forms for 2 weeks. A month without check, finally got doctor to fill out without charging big bucks again. A week after the received the paperwork, they finally gave to claims adjustor. Supposed to mail check to me; employee promised check would come to me. Lie; they sent it to my now FORMER company who canned me a month ago. So now I sit here with no food for my kids. They are going to bed with empty stomachs because they decided to send check to company that I no longer work for who opened mail addressed to me. If your company offers you Short or Long term Disability from these thieves, quit. It will save you lots of heart ache.
