On June 16, 2009, I attended a presentation for vacation services through Florida Sport and Recreation Network. The presentation was convincing and promised savings of thousands of dollars on cruises, hotels, condos, airfare and car rentals. This lifetime membership cost $3,483.00 plus a $150.00 annual usage fee.

Unfortunately, none of the promises of savings 2-3 times better than internet companies or travel agents was true. I attempted to use the service to book hotel reservations as soon as I was able to (10 days after the contract was signed). The hotels in their network were limited and the rates no better than the internet prices. The rewards money toward the rate was less than $25.00, more like $10-$12.00. In addition, the hotels were 2 and 3 star hotels, contrary to the promise of 4 and 5 star hotels only. My second attempt was to reserve a 2 bedroom condo on the beach in Florida. We were very flexible in our dates ( not a holiday period) and open to any city in Florida. Out of 10 rentals from the network inventory the only rental found to be available through the network was a golf resort located 4-5 miles from the beach. I went to the internet and found several condos on the beach meeting our requests at comparable prices. I called the customer service manager and requested a cancellation of my membership. She said she would research my concerns and get back to me. To date no one has replied to my request. This prompted me to research this company on the internet. There are so many complaints. One reported a membership of 3 years and never being able to book a reservation. Everyone had experiences similar to mine. I only wish that I had checked the internet before going to the presentation or prior to the 3 day cancellation period. I would like to join with others to inform innocent consumers about this company before it's too late. Please contact me at (((Redacted))).

Untrue Allegations. Response to Members Complaint.

AUTHOR: Director of Member Services-FSRN - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 12, 2009

I've been indirectly in contact with this member on several different occasions over the past couple of weeks. This member has been advised that there are absolutely no grounds whatsoever for us to cancel their membership and no justification as to why we should go outside of our allotted rescission period to issue a refund.

This member claims that our hotel rates are no better than other competitors and/or travel agents. Member also states that the savings we offered was $25.00 or less, more like $10-12.00 per night, per hotel. Member also complained they were promised we only carried 4-5 star hotel properties through our travel network.

It is absolutely ridiculous to think Florida Sport and Recreation would only maintain 4-5 star hotel properties through our network. In general, the nicer the hotel property, the more expensive. Some people are just as happy staying at the Holiday Inn (2-3 star) as they would be staying at the Hyatt (4-5 star). We have thousands of hotel properties available through our network that range from what this member would consider a 2 star all the way up to 5 star. At no time would any member of the Florida Sport staff tell someone we only offered 4-5 star hotels. They may state we offer a variety of hotel properties, some of which are 4-5 star, but would never, ever claim only top of the line 4-5 star properties would be available.

Member also claims to have gone online searching for a two bedroom condo through our network ANYWHERE in Florida, but could only locate one property at a golf resort miles from the beach. Either this member doesn't know how to do a search for two bedroom units using our site, or is making up an absurd lie. Our website currently has over 2000+ two bedroom condominiums available in the State of Florida alone. 500+ of them are available now through the end of the year.

This member not only claimed that competitors such as Orbitz, Travelocity, and Expedia, etc were cheaper than us, they claimed there were no five star properties available and certainly none of which were cheaper than the above competitors. I personally logged on under this members account, did a random search for 4-5 star properties throughout the world, and printed out-sent my findings to this member. In each case, our hotel price was significantly cheaper than any of the other competitors listed. The purpose of sending this information was to prove that often times our rates are not only the lowest, but significantly lower than any other online or retail travel outlet. In one such case, our price for a 5 star hotel in Las Vegas was $179.00 and the next to cheapest price was through Orbitz and happened to be $359.00. It was an Apples to Apples comparision. Same propertly location, same date, same exact room. 50% savings and well over $100.00 per night less than any other competitor.

We're here to help each member understand what it is they've purchased and explain how to utilize the services we have to offer. It's extremely easy to contact our offices. The Florida Sport and Recreation travel hotline may be reached at (800) 309-0572. This number is for travel requests Only. The sales office number is (386) 672-6009. My contact number is (866) 419-6547. I can also be contacted via email at: accountservices@accessrsi.com with any questions or concerns you may have.

Florida Sport and Recreation Network refuses request to cancel membership

AUTHOR: Lee - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 29, 2009

I have requested a cancellation of my membership and received a letter denying my request. I have also refused to pay any more money for services that can not be recieved. How can I get this membership cancelled? If it were worth anything the company would not force you to remain a member. There has to be a way out of this membership and I want out. Has anyone been successful at getting out of this bogus membership scam?
