INDIVIDUAL IN QUESTION WHO FILED COMPLAINT CLEARLY, READ, SIGNED AND UNDERSTOOD THAT ORIENTATION, FILLING OUT APPLICATION, AND TAKING A DOT MANDATED DRIVING TEST WERE ON A NON-COMPENSATED BASIS. HE FAILS TO MENTION THAT HE SIGNED A FORM AGREEING TO THIS AND UPON FAILING ORIENTATION PROMPTLY FILED A UNEMPLOYMENT CLAIM AS APPARANTLY HE WAS ON UNEMPLOYMENT.
WE REGRET WE CANNOT HIRE EVERY APPLICANT, BUT HE HAD NO REASON TO EXPECT PAY FOR THIS FUNCTION ANY MORE THAN THOSE WHO TRAVEL BY BUS TO OTHER CITIES AND ARE PUT UP BY THE BIG COMPANIES ONLY TO BE SENT HOME UNHIRED. THEY ALSO RECIEVE NO PAY FOR ACCOMPANYING A SR DRIVER ON A SHORT RUN AS THIS MAN DID.
IRONICALLY, THE DEPT OF LABOR DOES NOT INVESTIGATE THESE MATTERS AS THAT IS A STATE FUNCTION THRU TWC, BUT THAT MIGHT INTERRUPT HIS UNEMPLOYMENT
