The reports about Dominic and Stephen are not true.  They are good upstanding guys.  The report about the company is unfortunately true.  At training you won't learn one thing about being a coach.  You learn how to sell through cold calling and other tele-marketing approaches.  The use of Brian Tracy is simply as a name to put on the company, which they openly admit in the contract you sign.  You won't even meet him and he isn't involved in FocalPoint.  Further, most coaches report not even using the FocalPoint materials with coaching clients. 

So you pay $40K for the Franchise and they don't offer anything in return, except a bunch of binders you will never even open.  You pay $9K for training and you only learn how to be a tele-marketer and how to close a sale (much cheaper seminars to attend with far better teachers than Ian).  And finally you pay $1800 monthly for a Dominic cheer-leading call.

Beware of the investigation process.  Marc is a fast talker and they connect you with the one and only true success (monetarily) out of Arizona.  The rest of the calls they arrange for you to speak with, the people have drank the MLM koolaid and will tell you how great it is, only to find out once you are a part of it that they have no clients, they don't find the tele-marketing techniques successful, and that they are considering other methods to get business as FocalPoint has nothing to offer as a franchise.  They all agree that the intranet website, which is suppose to be the resource tool, is an absolute mess and most of the resources are from 3 to 4 years old and are nearly impossible to find or use.

Like Multi Level Marketing, you must stay high on the hype and if anyone asks someone if what they are doing is actually getting clients they are quickly put in their place and expected to simply try harder, do more, and expect to be on the top!

FocalPoint leadership uses a series of people who are on the payroll, or want to believe more than anything (like Multi Level Marketing) they will be the next Dan, to speak to potential franchisees and sell them on a dream, not reality.  It is a very expensive way to get exposed to Brian Tracy's books, which can be motivating, but are available for a few dollars at Amazon. 

Don't be fooled into thinking that FocalPoint has a great Franchise system which you can enter into and enjoy success unless you already have a strong network to draw on, like cold calling, and are a natural at tele-marketing and selling ice to an Eskimo.  My advise, read Michael Port's book, "Book Yourself Solid", attend one of his seminars, and save yourself a fortune doing what will actually work to coach people, rather than making Dominic and Stephen rather rich based on positive thinking and slick salesmanship.

That is the truth in advertising from a franchisee.
