Foley Marine & Industrial Engines Dr. Diesel, deceptive sales, delay of core fee, wrong parts Worcester Massachusetts

This company has a guy who calls himself "Dr. Diesel" who thinks he knows a lot. Unfortunately he is either or a liar or just poorly informed. He sold me a replacement transmission for my Hurth HBW 150. He told me that ZD had bought out Hurth and had renamed the transmission a ZD 15 but that he had a ZD 12 in stock that was the "exact" same transmission. I asked him why they would build the same transmission with 2 different names and he said that they wanted to have a direct replacement for the Hurth HBW 120 so they labled this one ZD 12.

Anyway I paid top dollar so I could get it down to my boat in Bonaire as well as a $400 core fee. When I finally went to install it I then noticed that forward and reverse were opposite of my transmission and the gear ratios were different as well! I had to cobble it together and fortunately had an adjustable pitch propeller.

When I sent them back the core they accepted the package and never credited me the core charge. I had to phone several times and threaten to get a lawyer.

Overall a terrible experience. Take your business elsewhere.
