At the end of April 2014, I went to the shop and bought a lens for my camera. Just after I bought, I got suspicious about the price and went through the Internet then, I realized I was ripped off.
I asked them to accept me return the lens but they said I can't do it because of the policy of company, "NO REFUND" even though they didn't tell me before I bought. I argued with them so much that time, sweared and screamed. I even sweared and screamed in my native language (Japanese). That was really weird though... Their attitudes are really bad. The boss, who was friendly to me before I bought, was awful when I ask him to give me a refund. Finally, he gave up but he just gave me 100 dollars back to adjust the market price of the lens. I accepted it. (It's better than not getting any refund.) But the thing is, I wanted to return the item and get a full refund. I had no choice that day because I had to go back to Albany by bus since time was running out.
After I went back to my room, I called them 20-30 times a day for 3 or 4 days. But they just said "shut the f* up" to me on the phone.
After a month from that day, I started to live near New York city with my friend so it became easy to go to the shop again. So finally yesterday, I went to the shop and ask the same old guy (boss) to accept my demand but it didn't work. He said "I'm not listening to you. I said no refund. Go away." Also other staff came to me and said the same thing to me. That guy was so shitty because he was talking to me really close to my face. I guess he wanted to scare me. The situation changed when I pointed my f**king finger. I did that in front of the boss's face, that was really close to his face. He kept quiet but when I moved my finger like "come on" with my f**king finger, he got so pissed then grabbed my arm. He was gonna punch me in the face but he didn't because other staff came to us and tried to calm him down. That was really scary. Then he said he can't endure this s**t so he wants to give me refund. He finally gave up.
I returned the item and they deleted the trasaction of my credit card. I won! But I'm still worried if he cheated or not. I'm checking my credit card transaction online in case.
For those who got refund, the refund receipt will say "Apprvd Offline" but that's right -you get refund. Keep checking your credit card transaction in case.
For those who are willing to get refund -use all the bad words you know. Swear in every sentence. Point your f**king finger making fun of them. Tell other customers that you were ripped off and get them out of there before they make purchase.
Don't be afraid. This is America. Also the staff at the shop are all shitty. There will be no one who helps you. (even 311, New York consumer complaint does't.)
Call the cops if you are punched or injured. But I'm sure they don't punch you even if you piss them off.
I apologize for my poor English but hope no one will go to the shop anymore.
