I worked as a driver at Chris's Cookies for about 10 years. I drove for them about 1.25 million miles without a single accident.

This past winter of 2015 because of the harsh weather conditions I was forced to drive 16 to 18 hours per day trip. The legal limit for a day trip, based on Federal law is 11 hours driving with a max of 14 hours for one day. When I filed a wage claim against the Company, after they let me go, The State of New Jersey agreed with my claim and told the company to pay me $15,000 for OT pay. The Company refused to pay me and claimed that I was a supervisor. The Company has only 3 drivers, 3 drivers don't need a supervisor. Drivers got their orders directly from the front office. How can I be a suppervisor if 3 times a week I was on the road for 14 to 18 hours?. If you check the Company phone records you will never find a call from me to another driver. Look at the website in the section of Our Team, my name was never there. How can I tell other drivers what to do the next day if I myself didn't know what I was doing? I also was never invited to a single stuff meeting, NOT once in 10 years.

The Company's employees don't get any health insurance, They are hired at close to minimum wage and stay on the job untill they see that there is no chance for an increase in benefits or pay, most employees if not all quit and are never able to collect unemployment. In my case because I am 60 years old, I wanted a contract that will spell out my benefits and limit my hours of service. I was working on a fixed salary so when I worked 18 hours or 12 hours my pay was the same. When I started to demand a contract the process of pushing me out began. The owners of the company refused to talk to me even after I was rushed to the ER this past March 2015. When I told the owners that I am going on a one man strike until I have a cotract they didn't fire me, and now they refuse to pay me unemployment.

All the years of hard work went down the drain. The Company was able to grow with my help. One Holiday some years back I worked 24 hours without stop, I drove in most dangerous conditions of rain and snow and they did not have a problem pushing me out.

The Company works with WHOLE FOODS & Trader Joe and the likes, They make planty of money for CHRIS, MANISH & BETTY. Their employees come and go come and go without any hope of ever getting better.
