Went to purchase a 2005 Toyota Carolla. There was a pre-owned vehicle that me, my mom, my girlfriend and her dad saw that was in great condition. Only 15,000 miles. The sales man lowered the price of the car to 13,300. I thought It was a good deal. I put $3,000 down. After all the agreement was made. I went to the back to sign the paper work for the price of the car. Little did i know that he went and added services that i did not request and added them to the contract. He had me borrowing 19,000 for the car! with 3000 down I should have onlly been fiananciing no more than 11,000. When i contacted him, he told me to come in the following week to fix the misunderstanding. When I went he was not there and one of of the other agents called him and he apologized and said to come back at 230pm. when i showed up he was still not there. I called him numerous times and he didnot pick up the phone. One of the sales associates tried to help me and he could only do so much. He screwed me over lovely. I contacted to toyota and i gave them a verbal complaint over the phone. a young lady took the information and forwarded to the manager of that dealership. I have not heard anything since. Toyota is not what people percieve them to be. I recommed honda.

Yes i should have been more informed that I could admit. but to say i have the right to get taken advantage of? you must be from another planet. And yes I did complain and all I am doing is advising those who go to this dealership to proceed with caution or head another way.

After speaking to someone at toyota. They were going to forward my complaint to the site manager. Never heard from them. Seems like the report I gave over the phone never got to the place. I have never seen such a horrible organization such as this. I hope that people will stay away from this place. I already stopped 3 of my friends from going there to buy a car. I will continue to find ways to keep calling until someone from toyota contacts me regarding what was done to me.

They often end up "Dead right"!
If you want to insist that the people at ANY dealership do "what is right" (whatever that happens to be) then do so. But in the end, or in your end, you will be screwed again.
You will only succeed when you deal from a position of informed strength. This is a free country and you are free to have other people take advantage of you as you make bad decisions, and you are also free to make yourself informed so that you can deal from positions of strength. It is your choice. But I do not see how doing nothing more than complaining here will help you.
You cannot change how car dealers & car salesmen behave. You can only change how YOU behave, and how YOU prepare yourself. You can curse the darkness, or you can light a candle.

Isnt it right to adivise the person buying the car all the details? I think the dealership was out to make a quick buck. Who do they answer to? Because obviously they took advantage of a person that really didnt know all the info. I agree with the name...screwed over...

If a new 2009 Corolla were $13,000 and could be bought for $12,000 why on earth would you pay $13,000 for a 2005 USED Corolla?
Toyota Corollas, Camrys, etc. and Honda Accords & Civics etc. depreciate at 14.5% per year, so as 4 year old models these cars would/should sell for 54% of the price of a new comparable vehicle. Adjustments are made for mileage, general condition, and body damages.
I think they "saw you coming" and followed P.T. Barnum's dictum, "Never give a sucker an even break."
I suggest you RESEARCH the cars [and their market values] that interest you very carefully next time before you ever venture onto ANY dealer's lot, or next time some Honda dealer will have a feast on you.
Consumer Reports offers car buyers' vehicle-specific information packages for about $15 that INCLUDE market price information as well as how you buy a car without getting screwed. Start reading Consumer Reports at your public library!

POSSIBLE FORGERY OF LEGAL DOCUMENTS....
AUTHOR: Karl - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Saturday, June 28, 2008
could have taken place with your car loan!!
Contact the Bank or Credit Union where the Dealer sent your loan NOW!! If they FORGED or ALTERED any of your loan documents, then you have legal rights!!
Make sure to get a copy of the 'Used Car Sheet' that accompanies the loan sent in by the Dealer! Look at all of the OPTIONS that the Dealer put on that sheet!! If it has features that DO NOT appear on your car, like- power windows, cruise control, sunroof, alloy wheels, etc., then the loan is NOT GOOD because they LIED to the Bank!!
ALL consumers in the USA should get copies of their loan documents from the Bank NOW!!!! MILLIONS of loans could have been done in FRAUDULENT ways by the Dealerships in the USA that take advantage of innocent people!!
GET COPIES from the BANK, NOT the Dealership!! DO IT NOW!!!
VERY IMPORTANT!!!!! Some car dealers could actually MISREPRESENT this to the Bank- the manufacturers INVOICE!!!! This is a CRIME!!!! They could cut the top portion of your vehicle's invoice which contains the vehicle identification number and then PASTE IT ONTO ANOTHER INVOICE of a car with more features & options!!! This is FRAUD!!! You can get OUT OF YOUR LOAN and re-coup DAMAGES if this happened to you!!!
I believe that at least 5% of all car loans in the USA are done with some type of FRAUD involved!! Over 16 MILLION New Cars & trucks & SUV's were sold EACH YEAR in the past 5 years!!! 5% of that would equal 4 MILLION contracts!!!!! 5 x 16 MILLION = 80 MILLION!! 5% of 80 MILLION = 4 MILLION!!!!
Call the Bank now, America!!!
Also, if they are doing it in the car business, then they were most likely doing it in the MORTGAGE BUSINESS, correct?!!
This could be your TICKET TO FREEDOM, America!!!

When you were sitting with the finance person, did they not go over the numbers with you? And if they did why did you not notice the amount increase?
