We went to Formals XO in KOP 2/10/2017 & purchased a Primavera Gown (Style 1764), Color (Blush), Size 6 for a total of $318. The dress didn't need any hemming.

My daughter put on her dress on April 29th to get ready for prom pictures.We stepped outside to take pictures in the grass when we saw a little pile of sequence. As she stepped away the sequence followed her. We picked up her dress & tried to tie knots to stop the sequence from falling. We then went inside & saw a stream of sequence trail behind her. We got safety pins & gathered all the loose threads & pinned the dress up. But the damage was done & there was a bare spot approximately 5" x 4" wide. All the sequence in this area had fallen off the dress & it was bare, just a shear piece of cloth was left.

We called the store after my daughter left for prom & spoke to someone who said their name was Marianne. The woman told us we should have came right to the store. Not possible since her prom was in two hours! She said to bring in the dress the next day (Sunday) & she will do something for us. I drove 30 minutes to the store to find a woman named Betty say that no one worked there with the name Marianne, she said no way I called the store. I have ten witnesses who heard me on the phone. Betty told me to take the dress with me and she will call the designer.

I never heard from her & contacted her on Wednesday. She said that I can pay to send the dress to the designer and they will fix it. I called the designer to try to see if they would do something for me since we spent $318 on a dress that fell to pieces & they accused the store of having faulty merchandise. They explained that the sequence dress is very delicate and who knows how long it was sitting in the store, how many people tried it on, & if it was properly taken care of.

I emailed Betty immediately and told her what the designer said & asked what she was going to do. She asked me to call her ASAP. She told me to send the dress back & she will work something out after the dress is sent back. Betty will not return my calls/emails. I tried for over seven days.  She even promised to pay for shipping, but again refused to return my calls and emails.

I opened up a complaint with the BBB and I have documentation that Formal XO lied about our interaction and the promises made to us from the store.  BBB closed the complaint because after fighting this for several months, the store finally agreed to pay the shipping which they agreed to months ago.  We will take the shipping money but want an apology as well.

Very disappointed and will share this with everyone we know who has daughters.
