Former: Galleria current Dealpass ripoff $139.95 stolen rip off scam con artists victimized many consumers Houston Texas

Being the first part of month I checked out my acct. to make sure my direct deposit had been made (I'm a disabled senior on SS) to pay the bills. It was puzzling to find a debit made on 01/27/03 for $139.95 as I would NEVER unknowingly make such a large purchase with my Visa card. After alerting my bank they gave me the attached phone # 800-411-8104.

Calling I spoke with "Sheena ID#9917" who said her company was in Houston TX. She told me I had requested the charge to cover a year's membership for good shopping deals.

At that point I went into overdrive...The name of her company? It "was the Galleria but had changed names to dealpass.com." I told her I had never heard of either company and had NOT ordered any such thing, nor given out my number. She then reassured me my acct would be re-credited w/in one-two statement cycles. I let her know in no uncertain terms that it had better be put back a LOT sooner than that or there would be all kinds of authorities on their company. She then changed her tune and said "allright then, 7-10 working days"!
My bank has been alerted and I have an appt. to speak w/a counselor and have it reported to VISA. My total monthly income is under $600 but I'm no slouch w/budgets; however creeps from the pit of hell like this can sure make a simple life difficult.

One note of peculiar interest, that others who have also been ripped off by these cons might want to check out and contemplate as I did (using Google): when dealpass is searched as one word you find these reports for the most part. However, if you enter the name as TWO words, ie www.deal pass.com you will come upon some mighty interesting listings with the words DEAL and PASS found within the text in bold... suspect, would any one else agree? Maybe worth a closer look.
