Fortune FinancialFortune Financial Inc. I recieved a letter with a check enclosed saying i won 100,000 dollars when really the account number on the check was a fake!! Dallas Dallas Texas

I recieved a letter in the mail saying I was a lucky winner of $100,000 dollars.There was a check enclosed for a small portion of the money,and it said i had to call this number (in canada) to activate the check. I did so and they did not ask me for any personal information just my name and reference number from the letter.

I started finding things that I thought was a little off with the letter. One the company name was misspelled on the top of it. Then a typo was on the check...who misspells DALLAS?? So I began to investiagte before i would go ahead and cash the check. I looked online to see if the routing number was in fact real. To my surprise it did lead back to the bank the check was issued from.

I then decided to call the bank the next day to check the account number (knowing it was a fake being sent from canada gave it away) and see if they had any account under this account number and indeed they did not have any existing account numbers of the sort!

These people are getting too good...the check is an actuall check and everything!! If they dont get caught soon they will get an actuall account number and cause some serious damage there must be something that can be done
