Franklin Covey ripoff defective leather computer briefcase for women San Jose California Nationwide

I spent over $249 dollars for a woman's leather laptop briefcase from the Franklin Covey store in Valley Fair Mall in San Jose.

LESS THAN TWO YEARS later with LESS THAN daily use and the handles are already cracking and fraying AND the zipper pull for the computer compartment is broken. This is ridiculous, since when does leather begin to fall apart after less than two year of daily use! Actually, just 3 times a week max I would carry this bag. I had a leather briefcase that was a hand-me-down that I would still be using today if my pet hadn't chewed on the handle.

I went to the store, where the manager gave me the 800 number for customer service. When I called the 800 number in Salt Lake City, Utah, which is the home office of Franklin Covey, the customer service representative and her supervisor told me there was nothing that could be done. Items are only guaranteed for 1 year. This is a piece of business luggage, leather luggage is supposed to last for years. I've had nylon luggage last far longer and better customer service from smaller vendors.

This is the organization that talks about the "7 Habits of Highly Effective People". I'm sure that one of the 7 Habits of Highly Successful Business is that they listen to their customers and make proper restitution when necessary.

They won't even pay for the zipper to be replaced!!

I'm so very disappointed, this is the 2nd leather article I have purchased from Franklin Covey. It is defintely the last. The other item, an organizer needs to have its zipper pull replaced also. It took longer to happen with the organizer, but this shoddy workmanship is unacceptable.

Unless you have money to just throw away, I would not recommend purchasing any leather goods from Franklin Covey.
