My fiance was looking for a credit card. He received a solicitation call from this company promising him a Mastecard with a 2500.00 limit for a one-time fee of 99.00, to be debited from our checking account. This was on 6/21/02, and it is now 8/8. Not only did he not receive a card as promised, but they debited the account 221.95, causing four overdraft charges.

I have been trying to reach them off and on for over a month. You either can't get through at all, or they put you on hold for half of forever. Finally, today I got a customer rep and she said th problem was that their computers had been down for over a month! That looks like a familiar story here...I told her we would wait another week and then file a complaint with the Attorney General's office, but from what I have read here, it looks like I ought to just go ahead and do that.

Lesson learned: don't ever give your checking account number out over he phone unless you ar SURE of who yo are talking to.
