Hilda Galvez of Freestand Financial Holding Corp. Phoenix, Arizona was suggested by my Real Estate Agent, Phil Puttman of West USA Realty, as a person to broker a loan.
Through Lies and Deceit she earned $3,400.00!
Hilda Galvez a loan officer with Freestand Financial, took the financial information by phone. She met with me in person and I signed a contract with her to secure a 30 year fixed mortgage at 6.75 based on my excellent credit scores.
Hilda Galvez was advised, I would not consider an arm loan. Only a 30 year fixed Mortgage Loan. She assured me this was the only type she would investigate for me. I was not obligated to use her loans.
I investigated some other offers on my own and and was pre-approved by M & I Bank and Chase Bank (Bank One). But I did not like their terms & told Hilda about this. M & I offered me, on my own without a broker the same type of loan which Freestand Financial ended up switching to at some point during the process.
Each time I spoke to Hilda Galvez she assured me that it was a 30 year fixed with a 2 year payoff clause.
The final day the seller would accept funds and not cancel the contract, it become known at the title company that Hilda Galvez and Freestand Financial had lied and secured an ARM loan. She lied to me even the night prior to signing. There was no other indication she had changed my origianl contract or many subsequent requests for a 30 Year Fixed.
She lied to protect herself. She said her company did not allow her to show me the loan before it was final. I would not have accepted the ARM loan from M & I Bank. She would not have received $3,400.00 in broker fee's had she not lied and used unethical methods such as Bait & Switch!
If you are envolved with her or this company, you should contact the Mortgage Broker's Assoc. about her so that you do not get ripped off too. She told me on (5-14-05) after I signed the contact, that she does not have any credentials.
