I ordered a mortuary cot from this company on Ebay under from a company named The USA Trailer Store. Upon paying for it online, I was given a printed receipt from Friendship Funeral Supply/The USA Trailer Store which showed free shipping would be done through UPS Ground. I was provided a tracking number and told the item would be delivered by July 20th. On July 19th I went to the UPS Ground website and entered the tracking number provided to me at time of sale to check status of item. I was instructed online that the tracking number did not appear correct and I subsequently called UPS Ground and was informed that they had no record of shipment. I emailed The USA Tailer Store/Friendship Funeral Supply and told them the tracking number was incorrect and to please provide me with a correct number.
I did not hear back from so I called them and left a phone message on July 20th in the afternoon. On July 21st, they responded by email and informed me that the had used R&L Transport instead of UPS Ground and said the tracking number was R&L's. They further stated that R&L had attempted the delivery the day before but that "I wasn't there" and now there was a new "shipping charge" that I needed to pay. If I don't pay the charge, the item would be returned to them and they would deduct all shipping charges from the money I had paid! I was at my shop on the 20th and never saw a frieght truck. I subsequently called R&L transport and inquired about the "extra transport fee because they couldn't deliver the item". I was told by Tamika that "she couldn't give me that information and that I would have to contact the company I bought the item from to discuss". I told Tamika that I would be more than happy to drive the 45 minutes to there depot to pick up the item so they didn't have to come back out. Tamika stated that the "redelivery fee" would still be do even though I pick it up at their dock. She stated that no item could be released until I paid the fee but that she "couldn't tell me the amount until I contacted the company I bought the item from"!! Smell fishy?? Sure does....sounds to me like I'm getting soaked to pay the original shipping charges despite it was advertised as free shipping! Good scam....So...after multiple emails to The USA Trailer Store and unanswered phone calls Troy Shockley basically refused to help and didn't care. I told him that I felt it wasn't proper since they had originally told me the wrong shipper and only got back to me AFTER the fact that R&L allegedly attempted delivery.
When I told him that Tamika wouldn't provide me with the fee amount, he said that I would have to pay his company and that I would be sent a link in email to pay it - $72.00. Troy does not care about his company or customers and basically "stuck it to me" knowing I needed this item immediately! So I had no choice to pay the fee and go pick up the item at the dock which I did. I strongly recommend that you avoide this company The USA Trailer Store/Friendship Funeral Supply. They have other complaints on their Ebay ratings page for either poor quality merchandise or complaints like mine with regards to poor customer service after the fact. As a busness major with a degree, the first thing you learn in business is stand behind your sales and if you're wrong make good!! This was their mistake because they switched shippers and only contacted me after the original delivery date and my attempts to reach out to them via Ebay, phone. I will not stop in generating online complaints on multiple sites so that others don't get screwed!

Customer's Error

On 7-21 we sent the customer a very detailed email that included the name of the trucking company, the tracking number and even a link to the trucking company’s tracking page so the customer could track his shipment. This was the day before the trucking company attempted delivery. The trucking company attempted delivery and the customer was not present. Our policies very clearly state that the customer must be present at a business address during the hours of 9 to 5. The trucking company required a 72.00 redelivery charge or reconsigment fee for changing the shipment from delivery to dock pickup. This extra fee was charged by the trucking company, and was incurred because of the customer’s oversight.
